Alexander Hamilton made 3 promises on 3 different occasions, but he never kept any of them.
As long as I'm alive Eliza you'll never feel so helpless
Those words were true for a while. But it all changed when he met Maria.
Eliza had to find out the rough way. Her husband making it public and publishing a whole pamphlet about it.
She remembers Angelica comforting her and going to have a "talk" with Alexander.
We'll be with you when you do
Alex had promised Lafayette that in The Battle Of Yorktown. He had promised him that he would do all he could to help France and Lafayette in the revolution.
Lafayette had to believe and remember that during the revolution.
He tried his best to have faith that Alexander would come with the battalion he always wanted to help France.
Eventually, he lost faith when he got thrown in jail and Alexander never showed up, even though it had already been a year.
I Swear that I'll be around for you
Philip remembers his father always saying that to him as a child. He vowed to be the best father ever. He always told that to Philip. Especially after Alexander's own father left him.
But it all went down hill when one of his father's friend died. He started overworking himself more, and he was never there for Philip.
Eventually, Alexander left Philip, his siblings, and his mother. Leaving them while he went to work.
When Alexander actually came home he still worked like his life depended on it. He would lock himself in his room, refusing to eat or drink until he finished an essay.
When they tried to offer him a break, he refused to. And he stayed home. And that's where the affair started.
All of his family was heartbroken that Alexander could do such a thing. Even Philip, but he still had a sliver of hope left for his father.
He tried protecting his father's legacy that his father was so obsessed with. He challenged someone to a duel, following his father's advice.
He got shot at the duel and had to be rushed to the hospital.
"I'll make the world safe and sound for you.."
Those words seemed to echo in his head as he was laying on his death bed. He thought his father wouldn't show up. It had already been an hour.
And he was starting to feel sleepy.
