Epilogue

"After constant protests against the government's ban on empathy, they have voted to repeal the Anti-Empathy laws. Recently, two city gangs known as EXO and Neo Tech had a battle over which was better, only finding the answer after countless lives were lost." Suga took a bite out of the apple in his hand as he overheard the news on the TV.

"I hope our Haechanie and Taeyongie are alright..." He heard Jimin mumble sadly.

"One of Neo Tech's members, Na Jaemin, gave a speech earlier this morning. Here's a replay of the speech." Namjoon walked in the room, very interested in hearing this whole thing while Taehyun gave Jimin a side hug on the couch. It cut to the video of Jaemin giving the speech. He was standing at the podium, eyes red from the tears he had shed, shirt torn and bloody from the battle they had just fought.

"The war was won, but too much was lost. While me and my friends from Neo Tech are proud of the victory, we have all been emotionally broken beyond repair. I would like to name those we lost over over the span of the battle, both good and evil." Jimin cuddled closer to Tae, worried about who would be mentioned.

"Zhong Chenle, Park Jisung, Lee Taeyong, Do Kyungsoo, Lee Haechan, Park Chanyeol, and..." They were already all in tears, but seeing Jaemin like this made it worse.
Jaemin paused and took a shake breath.

"Huang Renjun, and Lee Jeno." Jaemin's voice broke as he finished.
Namjoon recognized what he was seeing on the screen like his reflection in a mirror.

A broken man struggling silently through all of his loss.

"Author Brodi Ashton once said, 'Heroes are made by the paths they choose, not the powers they are graced with.' I find this to be true in many ways. What we were fighting had the advantage, their lack of emotion making it easier for them to kill. But we still won because they chose wrong over right. And while I am grateful that we won, I hope that EXO's suffering wont last."

What the camera couldn't show you, was who Jaemin gave a grateful and sorry look to.

Baekhyun.

It then cut back to the reporter, but Taehyun turned off the TV before she could speak. He let the sad silence drone on, the only noise being Jimin's quiet sobs as he cried into Tae's shoulder.

"So its over.." Namjoon said, breaking the silence as he held back the tears, his shakey voice showing all the pain.

"He did what he said he always would for us...

They won the war."
