I stood for a moment thinking over what Erebus said, "You can stop all of this." Did I really want all of this to stop? I would lose all the power I'd reign with Kristillier. I shook my head and turned around just as the door opened. Kristillier walked in and opened his arms to me and I walked over to him falling into his embrace.
"Kris, I don't know if I want to do this anymore," I said quietly. Kristillier held me out a few inches from him and looked down at me.
"What do you mean?" he asked, his fingers stroked my arm.
"I'm not sure I can do this, to have all of this power," I answered avoiding his gaze. He sighed.
"You're just a bit nervous is all love," he said softly. "The time will soon come for us to fight the war against the enemy, to wipe them from the earth," Kristillier continued. I looked up at him.
"You never did tell me who we're fighting," I said.
"It's a secret, more of a surprise really," Kristillier answered.
"No really Kris, who are we taking down here, I need to know," I said becoming more firm with my tone.
"I'll tell you when the time comes," Kristillier said. I glared slightly and stepped away from him.
"Am I going to have to use my powers?" I asked. Kristillier was silent for a moment before answering with a yes.
"It's the only way Anna. You're so strong and without your powers, you're weak," Kristillier said. I growled.
"I am not weak! I'm strong with or without my powers!" I yelled.
"Alright then, prove it," he said.
"How?" I asked in a tight tone.
"Well...like this," he said before he advanced on me. I dove away, but Kristillier caught my wrist and pulled me back against him. "Don't run, fight," he whispered in my ear. I tried to get out of his grip, but his hold tightened. "Remember Anna, you already made your choice. Your fate is sealed," Kristillier continued.
I felt the warmth of my powers coming to my hands and I contemplated what to do next. Kristillier had one arm across my stomach and one across my chest. I quickly pulled his arms away and spun from him. I raised my hands in front of me and they were glowing from my light.
"Kris I swear to you, I'm not sure if I can do this anymore," I said, my face constricting into helplessness.
"But you can, and you will. Do it for me Anna, do it for us," he murmured trying to compel me.
"NO!" I yelled and turned for the opened door, but it slammed shut and locked before I could escape. I turned around now to find Selene now in the room standing next to Kristillier.
"Leaving so soon?" she smirked and gazed at me.
"Anna seems to be having trouble making a choice here," Kristillier said looking at me.
"I believe she's beginning to worry. Something she needs to know, but won't get an answer," Selene said. I looked at her.
"You know too? You know who we're fighting?" I asked.
"Why of course, but I can't tell. It's a secret," she said.
"Anna, you said that you would help me destroy all evil of this world, why did you suddenly have a change of heart?" Kristillier asked me. I shifted my gaze to him.
"Because something doesn't feel right, and I'm going to find out what you're planning and put a stop to it," I said becoming angry.
"Oh Kris, why can't I just take her powers back?" Selene asked whining.
"No, I need her to have them, she already knows what she can do with them," Kristillier said.
"Erebus was right, you are using me Kristillier. You've been manipulating me and using me this entire time. You compelled me so I would only listen to you and do what you wanted," I said.
"Very good Anna! You finally figured it out, but what are you going to do about it now? The only thing you can do is follow out the rest of my plan," Kristillier said.
"No! This is all over! I'm done with you and everything you want me to do!" I yelled, my light coming back to my hands. Selene stepped in front of Kristillier and glared in my direction.
"What a snappy little tongue you've got, I think I'll just cut it out so you won't insult Kristillier anymore!" Selene said withdrawing a dagger from her dress.
"I didn't insult him," I hissed taking a step forward. Kristillier stepped forward as well.
"Anna, I'm giving you a chance to come back to me. Look at everything I've given you. You have all you could want here, why would you just want to leave all of that behind?" Kristillier asked.
"Kristillier, all you've done is shaped me into your weapon. You played me like your toy! Pretty soon after you're done playing with me, you'll discard me and move on to someone else," I said.
"Oh, but there's where you're wrong. Why would I want to get rid of such a precious treasure such as yourself? You're too valuable to throw away," he said coming to me. "Selene you can leave," Kristillier said and Selene obeyed. He came back to me and shoved me up against the nearest wall, and his face neared mine. "If only you knew how greedy and selfish I can be Anna. I don't like to share what's mine to anyone else. That's why I kept you so close to me," Kristillier said. I turned my head from him hiding my watering eyes. His finger came beneath my chin as he forced me to look at him. I looked into his emerald eyes, and they looked almost sympathetic.
He stroked my cheek, wiping away a tear that had escaped. I let out a small sob as Kristillier neared my neck and kissed it softly and then nipped the skin. He pulled back and his lips met mine. In sudden fear, I frantically pushed and shoved against his chest. He deepened the kiss making me fight more. Finally he pulled back and looked me in the face.
"No one can give you what I can. Not Liam or Jacob," he said with disgust.
"Kristillier, please just let me go, I was never yours to take. I'm scared and I just want to go back to where I belong, to where I'm safe," I pleaded.
"I'm not letting you go. I didn't track you down for nothing," he said. I raised my hand and slapped him across the cheek. I sniffled. He closed his eyes for a moment before looking back at me, his cheek beginning to turn pink. "You'll have to do more than that to think I'll let you get away from me," he said, uttering a growl.
"I'm done with all of this and I don't want to be a part of it anymore!" I said trembling.
"You can't undo a deal with the devil Anna. You already signed the deed," Kristillier said looking me over.
"There was no deal I made. All I did was make a choice I shouldn't have, but when I get out of here, I'm coming back to get rid of you once and for all," I said trying to be as threatening as possible.
"That won't happen, not as long as you're here. Besides, you have a war to fight, and don't think you can just back out of that," he said. I glared hatefully at Kristillier.
"Liam and Jacob are going to come for me and when they do, they're going to kill you," I growled causing Kristillier to laugh. It had been the first time in several days that I'd said Liam and Jacob's names.
"They'll come for you, but me and my army will be ready for them," Kristillier said. I stopped and thought for a moment thinking over his words. The war "we" were going to fight was against evil that apparently needed to be wiped from the earth. The evil was an enemy of Kristillier and I knew the only two people that Kristillier hated most.
"No..." I murmured realizing who the enemy or enemies were. "No Kristillier! If you think I'm going to let you do this, you are so wrong!" I yelled tears springing to my eyes. Now I was really afraid. Afraid of what was going to happen next and what else Kristillier was planning.
"Now my little secret is out, quite a shock isn't it?" Kristillier crooned. I bit my lower lip and closed my eyes to stop my tears threatening to spill. I couldn't do this anymore. I couldn't take down the enemy, who happened to be Liam and Jacob.
