The Words That Define Me ~{Drarry Soulmate Au}~

Chapter ~ 1

Draco had revisited his tattoo through his dreams, they were vivid showing his soulmate beaten and cut. He'd wake up in a cold sweat sometimes even rushing to the bathroom to puke. He had become thinner over the past few weeks. You could see his cheek bones and ribs. Draco had become even more pale and his parents noticed. His mother worried and his father did too, not that he would show it.

He had three days before he headed to Hogwarts to start his third year. He knew he needed to shape up before he got there. If he didn't he would be looked down upon as weak. Even worse he would be pitied by his friends. He was a pureblood for Merlin's sake! He needed to act like one even if he suffered more as a result.

Draco had begun to pack his trunk, but his mind wandered to his soulmate no less. He wondered if they were someone at Hogwarts. Could there possibly be someone who suffered that much there? If he found them would he be able to protect them? What would they know about him? These questions wandered through his mind momentarily stopping his work.

A loud knock startled him back to reality. He got up and went to answer it. He opened the door to see his mother with a tray of food. "I thought you should eat" she stated. "Thank you Mom"

"No problem dear I just worry you know, you're so thin," she rambled on "so you must eat this!"

"Of course Mom, I love your cooking" he gave a small smile. "Thinking about your soulmate again," she observed. "Yeah" he sighed walking back into his room and sitting on his bed. His mom set down her tray on his desk. She sat down next to him. "What do you see dear?" She asked.

"I see them being beaten and cut," he paused  then continued "they were on the floor mom, there was so much blood and I keep wondering if I meet them, will I be able to save them? Will I be strong enough not to cry, to pretend to be strong even if I am not?" He choked back tears welling in his eyes.

His mom hugged him, drying his tears. "You are very strong Draco and by the time you meet your soulmate they will know that you're strong too, I have complete faith that they will trust you and love you for who you are."

"You think so?"

"I know Draco, your soulmate is strong, you'll be able to protect them when the time comes," She finished kissing him on the forehead and continuing to hug him.
