Draco hadn't seen or heard from Kate since lunch. Classes had ended and students headed back to their dorms before dinner. Draco ended up following the pack, the amount of students dispersing until there were only a few going to the Slytherin house same as him. Slytherins were a silent folk, nobody talked unless it was about wizard politics or they happened to be your friends. It was a quiet respect that nobody else saw.

He made it to the commons and spotted Kate. He made his way to her, ignoring that Blaise and Pansy were snickering as he got closer. "Hello Kate," he stated "did you figure anything out?"

"Well yes, and no" she replied seeming a bit agitated.

"What do you mean?" He asked, "I mean me and Mason know who your soulmate is, now that we know we have decide to keep it a secret."

"Why I want to know who my soulmate is," he whined making an attempt at puppy eyes. Blaise and Pansy who were watching burst out laughing. Tears of joy rolling down their cheeks. "Draco, I had no idea you were a beggar" Blaise giggled. Draco looked at them miffed. Kate smiled and said "well we think you two should figure it out for yourselves."

Draco still pouting nodded slightly disappointed, but a new fire lit under him. He knew he could find them. They would be hurt and abused no more, if Draco had a say in it.

Looking up he read the clock, 5:43. Dinner would began shortly. He brushed off his cloak and headed back out the door with his friends, who were taking about how silly he was around Kate. Pansy had mentioned time and time again that Draco was becoming softer because of Kate. He knew he was, and he didn't mind. That girl had been nothing but delightful since she'd entered the house. Some people might even think she was a Hufflepuff with her kindness.

They made it to the great hall. Draco glided to his seat next to Pansy and Kate. Blaise sat across from them. As dinner began so did the chatter. He scanned the area, to see if anything interesting was happening elsewhere. The conversation at his table becoming boring. He noticed a certain black tuft of hair and green eyes trained in his direction. "What in bloody hell is Potter staring at me for?" He thought. He looked right back, taking the challenge. After a while Kate noticed and pushed him.

"What?" He questioned,

"Go talk to him, your guy's contest is bothering." She looked him straight in the eye before shoving him again. He reluctantly got up. Making his way over to the Gryffindor table. Harry's face laden with shock. As Draco approached however Harry relaxed. "Potter may I speak with you" he asked.

"What would the great Draco Malfoy need from me?" He replied in a sassy tone. "Says the guy who was staring at me," Harry shrugged. "Fine," he said turning to his friends assuring them he'd be back. "Lead the way," Draco obliged leading them out of the hall.
