Holiday Special

Work was harder than usual as the Holidays brought about the smallest of problems in the largest of quantities. The amount of aurors was less as Christmas fast approached. To top it all off during this time of year, catching an evil witch or wizard was the least of their worries. In fact, witches called in frantic panic if one of their gifts went missing or if they ruined a ham. They couldn't refuse because the owls that would come in response would be in great numbers.

To Mr. and Mr. Malfoy Potter this wasn't anything new, they had done all of this in years previous. Harry could fix just about any burnt ham and find any missing gift. Draco could also mend toys like nobody's business, partially due to the fact that when the twins were children they broke everything. This year however they had promised to be home for their kids on Christmas Eve and Christmas, to spend more time with them.

The twins were the oldest and over the Christmas holiday had to watch their one younger sibling, Scorpius. Kate was mostly left in charge of feeding, nap time and potty breaks. Mason kept him busy playing jump around the living room and teaching him to ride his Swifty, a broom which had a low ground spell cast on it so injury, if any, would be minor.

It was December 23rd and to Draco it seemed to be a regular hectic work day, until he got a call for assistance given to him by a barn owl. Draco opened the letter to find a strange ask for aid. 'Santa has gone missing!' It read in loopy red cursive at the top, then below that it read 'last known location: a shop finely decorated with cloth'. That wasn't a location by any means, but he knew if he didn't act soon that Barn Owl would be back. "A shop decorated with cloth" he recited to himself. "Ah, maybe it's Madame Malkins" he said aloud aparating there immediately.

The middle aged woman was dressing a young boy in festive dress robes when she looked up and noticed Draco. "Well hello Mr. Malfoy Potter what can I do for you?" She asks. "I was wondering if you might have seen Santa, it seems he has gone missing." Draco explained. "Oh dear, I see well I saw him, but don't know where he went, he did leave something though." She rifled through a drawer until she pulled out what looked to be a key chain. It had a strange looking vegetable hanging from it, one Draco wasn't familiar with. "Do you know what this vegetable is?" He asked, Madame Malkins nodded, "that there is a leak."

"A leak, what an odd name," he thought "how does this help though?" There must be something, he looked at the letter. "Ooooh, They must speak in riddles. If it's called a leak, then maybe the leaky cauldron I mean where could I go wrong?" He said mockingly to himself. He apparated to the leaky cauldron which was filled to the brim with people, enjoying the holiday cheer. Draco sat himself at the crowded bar and waited for the bartender. A man with silver slicked back hair came up to him and said, "what can for you today sir?"

"I was actually wondering if you've seen a Santa Claus, he has gone missing," Draco explained yet again. "Ah, yeah he was in here earlier drinking some nog at that corner table," the bartender pointed to an empty table at the back still messy with empty glasses. Draco thanked the man and headed over to the table. He examined only to find a slip of paper, on it read 'North Star visible December 23rd' (I know it was actually the first but whatever).

In Astronomy class he had learned that the North Star aka the Christmas Star was when Saturn and Jupiter almost overlapped each other. If Santa wanted to see stars then he would most likely have a place in mind to gaze. If it were Draco he would go to the Hogwarts Astronomy Tower, but it wasn't him and Santa could be anywhere. Draco soon just gave up trying to think where Santa would go and figured it was worth a shot.

He apparated to the tower only to be brought to tears, as he saw his husband sitting on a blanket in a Santa outfit with a blinking sign that said "I love you, you are the best gift I could have ever asked for!" Draco tackled Harry to the ground. Through happy tears he whispered, "I have never heard of a leak" to which Harry giggled. "Merry Early Christmas my ferret!" Harry said hugging him.

"You too, scarhead."

I hope you enjoyed this festive oneshot! In case you are wondering this is set in the future! I wanted to write this as the holidays are special to me. So let me wish you all a Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!🎄 I love you all, stay safe!
