Harry sat his mind finally calming after suddenly realizing it. The 'it' being that Draco was actually his soulmate. That the glances they shared weren't just coincidence, but actually meaningful gazes. He wasn't just fooling himself when he saw something more in the boy. While his thoughts were muddled, he felt a tap on his shoulder. "You okay Harry?" Lupin asked. "Yeah I just have a lot on my mind at the moment."
"What has you in such a stupor?"
"I think I just figured out who my soulmate is" Harry confessed. "Is that so, well here's my advice follow your gut. You will find them."
"Thanks professor, I am going to leave then cause I am try to follow that gut instinct" Harry smiled at the funny phrasing and waved to the Professor before leaving out the door. He put on the invisibility cloak that he brought just in case Peeves was flying about or if Filch was having a bad day. His instincts pulled him up the stairs. To the farther tower, the Astronomy Tower. He stepped carefully so he wouldn't make a lot of noise.
Once he had made it, he noticed a figure sitting at the window. He began to move in trying to catch a glance at who it was. When he was a meter away however, the figure moved and shouted "who's there?" Harry stood frozen, not sure whether to reveal himself. "I swear to Merlin if you don't come out I'll call for Filch" the figure said. The person moved forward into the light, it was Draco his gut was right. "Draco please don't freak out" he whispered. "Who are you? Where are you?" Draco asked.
Harry pulled off the cloak. "It's just me, now keep it down before we both get detention." He said putting a finger to his mouth. Draco looked at him in disbelief. "H-Harry" he whispered, that was the first time Draco had used his first name. He looked Draco straight in the eye and said "I think we should talk..." Draco nodded and sat. Harry followed suit.
"So, I uh kinda wondered why it was a uh snake on my leg" Harry said. "I also wondered why that Gryffindor friend of yours was my back." Draco stated. "You got Mason, I got Kate, that makes so much sense now."
"I already knew you were childish," Draco smirked. "I had no idea you were motherly, I mean who knew the prince of Slytherin could care so much" Harry grinned. Draco scoffed "she needed to look fabulous before she entered a classroom with those first year boys. My girl had to slay," Draco stated confidently. Harry giggled, Draco looked down.
"Harry, I-" Draco's words caught in his throat. Tears streamed down the porcelain boys face. Harry looked Draco in the eye and embraced him. "It will be okay, I understand you now Draco we don't have to fight anymore."
"That's not it," he sobbed. "Then what is it Draco?"
"I-I am so so sorry, I couldn't protect you" he cried. "From the scars they gave you..." Harry froze, tears welled in his eyes as he began to cry. "It was so hard Draco," he cried "I have lived half my life in a cupboard." Draco's cries softened. "They would beat me for every step out of line, I was so so very dark."
"They can't hurt you anymore" Draco hushed, combing his fingers gently through Harry's hair. Harry's sobbing diminished almost immediately. Draco made him feel safe and wanted. It was warm, inviting. Harry lifted his head looking Draco in his silvery grey eyes, he had been right those eyes were misunderstood to be menacing. When in reality there wasn't a speck of malice in that gaze. "Your beautiful you know," Harry said before slapping his hand on his mouth.
Draco's mouth hung open, face a scarlet shade. Neither of them dared to speak till they heard footsteps. Harry grabbed his cloak and Draco draping it over the both of them. Draco's face in Harry's chest, their position an almost sitting straddle. Harry on top, and a very embarrassed Draco underneath. The steps got louder and louder till...
