Chapter~6

Draco and his friends had gotten off the train and got into a carriage going to the castle. The structure was beautiful and old. Built with a magic that still surrounded it. It was a master piece made by their ancestors so future generations could learn about the magic that had originally created this school and environment. It still fascinates him till this day. The carriage was dragged by an invisible force. It stopped at the gates and they walked from there to to the large front door.

They walked inside and sat down at the Slytherin table the usual gossip flying about. "Did you hear Potter fainted on the train?" One student said. It wasn't like him, but Draco began to worry. Was Harry okay? "Why am I calling him Harry?" He thought "Why am I worried about that prat?" His face scrunched in concatenation till Pansy shook him back to reality. "Potter has arrived" she whispered. He looked over at the boy. His face was a sickly pale color and he looked like he could drop at any moment. He decided not to say anything.

While he didn't say anything Pansy decided she should comment, "hey Potter I heard you fainted, was the dark to scary for you?" she said in a condescending voice. Draco didn't know why but he wanted to punch her so bad. "Shut it Parkinson!" He heard Ron say. That was the end of it. The new first years entered the great hall and waited to be sorted. After the sorting they had gained a young girl who looked like she could be Draco's sister but she had brilliant green eyes and when she smiled you could see dimples. She sat right next to him. "Hello my name is Kate, nice to meet you!"

"Hello Kate, my name is Draco. Welcome to Slytherin" he said. Kate grinned. Draco knew he liked this girl already. She had become one of them and so the silent agreement to protect this innocent child at all costs was agreed among his friends. Draco talked with Kate about everything from quidditch to family. He was happy such a well rounded girl came to there house. Pansy even mentioned that he looked like a proud dad when she was talking about herself. Draco pushed the comment aside.

Announcements had begun and so he shushed them. Dumbledore stood up and began "Welcome students to the start of another great year at Hogwarts. As you may have seen while riding the train, dementors are roaming around the school. The reason they are here is because of Sirius Black's recent breakout." Draco nudged Pansy, he was right she rolled her eyes as Dumbledore continued "dementors can see through magic so be inside during bedtime, this includes invisibility cloaks. Please for your safety don't mess with them."

After announcements they went to the common room Pansy showing Kate the girls dorm and where she will be staying. Draco sat on the couch and looked at his tattoo fondly "soon" he thought.
