Draco couldn't wait to hang out with Harry. It would be the first time in a while, they actually got one on one time. Although he hadn't told anyone yet, he was planning to send a letter to his mother. He hoped that she wouldn't share it with his father. His confidence that he could hide Harry from his terrible family and father was low. He was willing to take a chance though.
He walked through the halls aimlessly. A thought wandered into his mind, which friend to tell first. Would he tell Pansy? No, not yet. Crabbe or Goyle, no. Blaise, maybe. As he thought about it, he'd seen Blaise eyeing a certain clumsy Gryffindor boy. He smirked. Neville Longbottom the boy had certainly grown into his body nicely. While he wasn't Draco's type, the previously chubby boy had begun to fill out, muscles forming, body and face thinning.
At the beginning of the year Draco had caught Blaise staring at him. When he pointed it out saying "he has become more defined I agree," Blaise had choked on air and turned a scarlet color. He arrived at the Owlery and began to write his letter to his mom. When it was done he tied it to a barn owl's leg. "Please deliver this to Narcissa Malfoy," he asked. The owl flew out the window.
Now it was time to find Blaise. Knowing him he was probably sleeping. Draco made his way down toward the dungeons. The decent was long and so Draco hummed and waved at the random students who passed him. Most had never seen a happy Draco Malfoy, so the weren't quick to reply to the gesture. Draco didn't notice or care and continued on his way. Until he saw Sarah. He stopped and waved beckoning her over. She walked over. "Hey Draco, what's up?" She questioned. "I wanted to thank you for that bear you gave me. I decided to name him Harrison,"
"That's adorable, so I take it you decided to stay for break..."
"That is correct which means we could hang out and chill if you wanted," Draco said. "Sure, I will owl you when I find time,"
"See you later then!"
See ya later Draco!" She waved continuing her walk down the hall. Draco was almost to the dungeons. When he made it to the portrait of Salazar Slytherin he whispered "Blood right" and the painting swung aside. He stepped into the common room, not surprised to find a napping Blaise on the couch. Suddenly he had a wonderfully evil idea, he got super close to Blaise's ear and yelled "WAKE UP SLEEPY HEAD!" Blaise shot up and wildly looked around eyes landing on Draco, he groaned. "Why must you do this to me Draco?"
"Because you sleep to much," he answered. "So what do you want Draco?" He asks, "I found my soulmate, and I wanted to tell you first because I think you would understand the best."
"Why would I understand better than Pansy, I am as dumb as a brick comparatively."
"Because you also, like men!" He exclaimed, Blaise's eyes widened by a fraction before he began to laugh. "So your soulmates a dude?"
"Yes"
"Do I know him?"
"Yes"
"What's his name?" The question he was dreading to answer. "Harry Potter" he mumbled, loud enough for only Blaise to hear. Draco hid his face, fearful to look Blaise in the eye. "I mean it makes sense" he says "for the first two years of Hogwarts he was all you ever talked about." Draco finally looked at Blaise who was smiling.
"One friend down" he thought.
