Episode 20: Wiseman Part 1

(It's nighttime inside Duel Monsters Interspace. In an unknown alleyway, three duelists are seen falling to the ground. All 3 are badly beaten and hurt, and their LP have just reached 0. Standing before them, is a strange individual, with the silhouette of a Duel Monster right behind him. The individual's eyes are covered, and his upper head is covered by a strange helmet, with a silver yellow circle in the center of the helmet, and only the individual's mouth is showing. The individual is also wearing a suit with two light blue lines running across each of the arms and legs, while the bottoms of the legs are glowing light green. A strange light blue circle in the center of the suit with a silver circle outlined around it is also seen, and the individual has silver technical hands with light green palms. He is standing before all 3 duelists, with a frown on his face) 

Unknown: How pathetic! I barely had to do anything. 

Duelist #1: Who....who are you?

Unknown: My name is Wiseman (Wiseman points) Remember me well. (Wiseman points at himself) For I am the greatest duelist that has now arrived in Duel Monsters Interspace. 

Duelist #2: Im...Impossible. Duelist #3: That can't be true. 

Wiseman: Don't believe me? (Wiseman taps his arm and shows a digital list to the three duelists, revealing a bunch of other unknown duelists) According to the systems and win/loss ratio list, I have defeated 96 duelists in a row, adding in you three to make 99 wins, also having only a 1% chance of defeat.  

Duelist #1: That's........

Wiseman: Something you three will never get to experience, not when you play as weak as you just did. (Wiseman begins walking away) What I need is a real challenge, a real opponent.

(Wiseman walks away into the dead of night)

(A couple days later, another day has begun at the Trigrande High School. It is currently the school's free period, and students are either studying, talking or doing other things to occupy their time. Among the students, Jace and Amy are sitting in the school's lounge area near the main office) 

Amy: It sure has been quiet for the past couple days. (Amy puts her hands behind her head) Oh well, guess we deserve it. 

(Jace isn't saying much. He's looking down. Amy looks at him)

Amy: Jace? You okay?

Jace: (Looking at Amy) Yeah, I'm fine. Just thinking about what Lazuli said to us a few days ago. 

(Amy looks down, knowing Jace has good reason for being so quiet)

Amy: Yeah, you're right. All that stuff she told us isn't just child's play.

(Jace thinks back to the duel between Lazuli and Amy, showing Lazuli making her moves)

Jace: (To himself) Lazuli. A Cyberse duelist just like me. Her skills are clearly in a class of her own strategy.

(The flashback ends)

Jace: (To himself) Lazuli tested Amy to see if she and I were ready, but ready for what? And, if I'm going to find out more about how to use "The Interfactor Of Bond" to my full advantage......

(Before Jace can finish, he and Amy hear conversations nearby)

Nelson: Hey, hey, hey! Has anyone heard about that mysterious duelist that's been showing up lately? 

Female Student: Yes Nelson. Female Student #2: Now get lost creep.

Male Student: Everyone knows about him. Male Student #2: He's like, really strong.
