(Is it bad that I can hear this?)

John pointed over to a phone. The shooter then looked at John. "No. Yer going to talk for me."

John's eyes widened. "Why me?"

"I know who you are aside from yer singing career. You work with the cops. If you and yer buddy do anything or try anything, one of you will die. Is that clear?"

John didn't answer.

"Now, yet going to do all the talking. Tell yer buddies what I want."

John thought about it for a moment. "Okay. I'll do it."

John walked up to a phone as the gun was aimed at his head. He dialed a satellite phone that was owned by George.

After a few seconds, he heard the familiar voice of his friend.

"Ello?"

"Geo. It's me. Listen, our friend here has some demands he wants met in one hour. Each hour that isn't met, hes going to start shooting hostages. Ye hear?"

"Yeh. What are his demands?"

"He wants a chopper out of here. Not sure how that'll be done but that's what he wants."

George started writing down everything he wanted. After a bit, he spoke. "That it?"

"Yeh. For now. Listen, be quick. He'll start off by killing Paul, then me. That's the last thing I want and the last thing I need. I want us all to go home today."

"Everyone in that diner will. I will get started on these demands. Hold tight."

"That's all I can do right now. Hurry ip."

John hung up. "They're getting everything you want."

"Thank you. I knew they'd listen to one of their own."

"Listen, you still have time to turn yerself in. You don't need to take this any farther."

"I am if I am to make a point. Now, what I want you to do is shut up or yer buddy dies. Is that clear?"

"Crystal."

"Good. Now sit down."

John nodded and went over to sit down next to Paul.

On the outside world, George handed the demands over to someone so they could try to fulfill his needs. George went back to Ringo. "Come 'ead. Let's pick up our badges."

Ringo nodded.

After a full thirty minutes, they picked up the stuff they needed and went back to the scene. They had thirty minutes left before a hostage is going to have to pay. Not just any hostage. Paul would be the one to pay.
