George moved some rubble away from the shoe and found a leg. He grabbed the radio again. "John, I found him."

"How's he look?"

"To be honest, not too good. I don't think he's awake. Hes pinned down by a bookcase."

"Can you move it on yer own?"

"Yeh. Give me a second."

George set the radio down and tried himself to move the bookcase. It took quite a few attempts before he finally got it to move off Paul. After moving it, Paul had become visible. He still had alot of him buried including his shoulders all the way up to his head.

George moved everything else and finally turned Paul over. When he did, he realized that Paul was unconscious. Half his head was covered in blood.

"John, I think you need to get an ambulance here right away."

"Theres already one on stand by in case we needed it. Can you get him to the opening?"

"I dont know. I wouldn't recommend that. What if he has some spinal injury? The move would make it worse."

"Okay. I'll send Ringo and a medic down there with a gurney. They could stabilize him."

"Be careful."

In the meantime, while Goerge was waiting, he tried waking Paul. He gently slapped his face. Once he saw Paul opening his eyes, he sighed. "You alright?"

"What's yer definition of 'alright'?" His voice was practically a whisper.

"Are you hurt? If so, where's it hurt?"

"Everywhere." He closed his eyes again but George stopped him.

"I need you to stay awake. Can you do that?"

"I'm tired."

"I know you are. You can sleep later. Right now, I need you awake."

Paul nodded and opened his eyes again. "Me head hurts." He said moving his left hand to his head.

George stopped him and lowered his hand back down. "I know it does. You have a little cut on the side of it but ye'll be fine. Got help coming."

"What happened anyway? One minute I was standing and the next I'm like this."

"We had a quake. You jinxed it mate." George said cracking a joke and smiling.

"If I had energy, I would hurt you for that remark.

"Remember that conversation we were having today? You said nothing is ever going to happen to you. You should've waited a few hours."

"Yeh. Should've. I need to learn to keep my big mouth shut."

"It would've happened anyways. It wasn't yer fault. The earth did it. Not you."

"I know. Did the others make it out?"

"Yeh. John has a few cuts and everything but hes fine and Ringo was in his car when it went down so he pretty much wasn't hurt. We're all just worried about you and you alone."

"Even John? I kinda annoyed him today."

"Yes even John. He wanted to wait until this place was secure enough before we went in."

George heard his name being called. "George?!"

"Here Ringo!" He called back. Then, he turned his attention back to Paul. "Hear that? Ye'll be out of here in no time."

"If only. What was I under anyways?"

"Yer bookcase. Apparently it fell right on top of you."

"I guess so. I don't remember what happened."

"That's fine."

Ringo and a medic appeared next to the two.

"Ey Paul. How ye holding up?"

"Me head's killing me and I'm tired."

"Ye'll be able to sleep later. Right now, this nice fellow is going to take care of you. Be nice to him."

"Oh and dont write on him." George added making Paul smile.

"I'll try not to."

Paul started to shut his eyes again.

"Ey. No. Keep those eyes open Paul. No sleeping yet."
