(Sorry if some of this chapter doesn't make sense. I'm watching Help! while writing this. 😂😂)

It had been several weeks now since John and Paul started the search for whoever had taken George a year and a half before. They had continued to keep it a secret.

Both Ringo and George had often wondered why the two had been gone quite alot and why they had been spending too much time with each other but they never asked questions in case they were working on something they didn't want to discuss just yet.

With each passing day, they were getting closer to finding him. Alfred had managed to call John the following day and once he did, John called Paul over.

Paul had gotten to John's first and let himself in, knowing John had left the front door open for him.

"Ey John! You here?"

"Yeh!" John called out from upstairs. "I'll be down in a minute."

Paul nodded and went to the couch to sit down. Then, John came down.

"Ey, did he ever say why he was coming over?"

"Not really. But he needs to be put away. It can't be postponed any longer. I'm sure George has asked himself why he isn't behind bars yet. So, Now's our chance."

"Okay. Got a ciggie?"

"You know I do." John said getting a nearly empty pack of cigarettes. He pulled two out and lit them both before handing one to Paul.

"Thanks. Nervous about this?" Paul asked.

"Of course. Why wouldn't I be? I don't wanna do this."

"I know but you know you have to."

"Yeh. Well, I'll let you do all the talking."

Paul started laughing. "Okay. I can do that. I've never seen you this nervous before."

"Yes you have. At our shows. I'm way more nervous over there than I am right now."

"Very true. Eh, ye'll be happy you did it once its already done."

"Hopefully. Ye know what, I'm gonna leave the house, let you handle this." John said walking toward his back door. Paul grabbed his arm and forced him back.

"Oh no yer not. Yer staying here with me. If I have to go through this, so do you."

John sighed. "Fine. Just, let me at least go to the loo and listen in to the two of you making conversation."

"No. Yer staying here."

"Okay. You win."

"No one else is in the house is there?"

"No. Everyone's out."

"Good."

"Why is that a good thing?"

"Because we don't want anyone asking questions."

"Ah. Okay. Good reason."

There was a knock on the door and John went to open it.

"He's here Paul."

Alfred walked in and saw Paul.

"What's he doing here?"

"He's my friend. You know that. Now, you do know yer not over here so we could talk right?"

"I do now. I was actually waiting for this moment."

"I'm sorry I have to do it. Geroge can hardly sleep at night because you haven't gotten what you deserve. If you cooperate, I can make a deal with the judge and you can be out in a few months than a few years. I'm not doing this because of our relationship. I'm doing it for George."

"I understand."

"Now, before we go, I need to know who else was involved and where I can find him."

"You can't find him. He went under the radar. Even I don't know where he is."

"Did you have any contact with him?"

"No."

"Okay. Well, this was easier than I thought. Come on."

*************

After several hours, John and Paul were sitting at their desks talking quietly when George finally approached. Then, the two stopped talking and looked up.

"What?" Paul asked.

"Well, I just want to know why half of us have been keeping secrets from the other half."

"Are you and Ringo keeping secrets from us?" John asked.

"NO. John, its you and Paul."

"That's a first I heard that I was keeping a secret. What secret am I keeping Paul?"

"Beats me."

"You live inside me head. You should know."

"So should you. Its yer head."

"Right." John turned back to George. "I don't have any idea what yer talking about."

"Yer lying."

"Who? Me? No I'm not. I'm a truthful person."

"Until you want to hide something."

"Ey. I'm not hiding anything."

"I will find out what you two are hiding. Maybe not now, but very, very soon. I'll find out."
