Paul had given John a ride back home. It was 10pm when he walked into his house. George was sitting on the couch reading and heard the door open and close.

"Yer late!" He shouted.

John walked all the way in and stepped into George's view. "I didn't know I had a certain time to be back."

"I'll let it slide this one time."

"So, what happened while I was gone?"

"Oh, nothing. Haven't really been interesting since I got here."

"That should've been expected. My home life is boring. You know that."

"I know. Now, what kept you?"

"I was at Paul's if you must know. Did you forget that I was dropped off over there after the conference?"

"I guess so."

"Now, what are you doing up instead of being home?"

"I don't know. I guess I'm just not very tired."

"Yes you are. And pretty soon, ye'll be going to bed."

"You look tired. Ye know that right?"

"Had a long day today Geo. Of course I'm tired. Its going on 10:35. Go on to bed."

George stood up and walked over to the foot of the stairs. "Yer not heading up?"

"Not yet. I'll be up in a minute. Don't miss me too much."

"Like I will." George said walking upstairs. John went to his kitchen to have a little snack before heading off to bed himself.

**********

After a month, it was hitting closer to their recording date for their new album. John and Paul would work nonstop, trying to get their songs done and written before that spacific date.

They only had two weeks until they were to record their music and about two songs away from finishing the album.

At the office, Paul was sitting at his desk with John sitting as his own and they were both going over their second to last song they had just finished.

John wrote down the title of the song, the final piece of the song they needed. "Run for yer life."

"Why?"

"No you sod. The title of the song. Run for yer life."

Paul laughed. "Oh. I thought you were telling me to."

"Why would I do that?"

"Beats me. I thought you might have wanted to let me be chased by whoever was supposedly chasing me."

"Nah. No one's chasing you. Well, not that I know of."

"Me either. I'll kill whoever stalks me."

"You can't kill me. You need me."

"You admit you stalk me?"

John smiled. "Maybe." Then, he crossed his arms and leaned back in his chair.

"Oh really? What did I do yesterday?"

"Hmm. Let me think. I was also stalking George and Ringo. You were walking around yer house for hours on end, waiting on me hand and foot."

Paul laughed. "Where did ye come up with that?"

"I don't know. It just came to me."

"I DO NOT wait for you hand and foot. I don't miss you that much."

"So, you do miss me when you don't see my lovely face. I heard it."

"I didn't say that genius. I never miss you. I see you everyday. Twelve hours sometimes. I don't miss you. Trust me."

John started to fake cry again. "But.........but..........I thought.............."

"You thought wrong...............what did you think?"

"I thought you loved me."

"Ey, who told you that god awful truth?"

John's frown turned into a smile as he tried not to laugh. "You did just now."

"Okay Mr. Wise Guy. Get back to work. And I'm not talking about writing our last song. We'll do that later."

"Later as in 'in several weeks' later or later as in 'when we get home' later?"

"Probably when we get home if we're not too tired. We can't do it in several weeks. That's when we're recording. Remember?"

"Ah yes. Wrong set of words."

Paul took out a cigarette. "Want one?"

John thought about it for a second. "Uh, yeh. I'll take one." He said reaching over to take one. "Can't wait until this year is over with."

"Why?"

"No idea. I'm just tired of being in this year."

"That makes no sense at all John."

"It makes sense to me."

"Yeh. Well, yer mind is strange. Everything makes sense to you even if it doesn't make sense to everyone else."

John shrugged. "Well, if I say it and it doesn't make sense to you, its because it sounded way better in me mind."
