"Geo, we're not hiding anything."

"Is that why you and Paul have been spending 30 hours a day together and leaving without saying a word?"

"For yer information, there's 24 hours in a day."

"Not in my mind. 30 hours because of long days. Now, answer the question."

"We're not hiding anything."

"Save it."

"Okay. If  you must know, we're giving you a surprise birthday party."

"John, my birthday isn't for another few months."

"Early birthday party?"

"No. That's not it. Both you and I know it."

"I'll tell you later. Deal?"

"You better. I don't want my friends hiding anything from me."

George walked off and both John and Paul sighed in relief. "That was close." Paul said.

"Yer telling me. I almost told him."

"Don't. Don't do that."

"I'm not. He was just being so pushy that it almost slipped out."

"So, you made up a fake story about his 'birthday party' which won't be for another few months?"

"It was the first thing that came to mind."

"Yeh. Now he knows we're hiding something."

"Say it louder why don't ye?"

"Why continue to hide this?" Paul asked.

"Because he gets upset when we bring up the matter to him. That's why. I don't want him upset and I'm sure you don't either."

"No. I guess not. But I don't think he would be upset about us looking for him."

"Yes he would. Last time we tried looking for this guy, George told us we wouldn't find him and to stop looking completely. So, we're going to look 100% harder this time. Find whatever rock he's hiding under."

************

After a few weeks, Alfred Lennon had been sentenced to 3 months in prison and John would visit him every day. They had finally learned to talk to each other without arguing, which, Paul was grateful for because he got fed up of hearing the two at each other's throats all day.

John visited him one day to get a little bit of information. He and Alfred were sitting outside when John spoke. "How's prison life?"

"Its uh, you know, okay I guess. I like it better in the outside world."

"You still have a while before you get out of here. The three months will go by very quickly."

"Why didn't you tell the judge that I had also took you and threatened you?"

"I don't know. I guess it never crossed me mind."

"Yes it did. I know it did. So, why didn't you?"

"Well, I realized that we got on good speaking terms. I don't wanna fight with you anymore and if I brought that up to the judge, it would've brought up a whole lot more problems."

"No it wouldn't."

"I didn't wanna take the chance on ruining this again. It was risky and I wanted to stay on talking terms with you. Good talking terms. Anyways, I came here for information."

"I already told you, I don't know where he is."

"Could you give me a description of what he looked like last time you saw him?"

"Didn't George already do that?"

"Yeh. But I wanna make sure its the same guy we're talking about."

Alfred then started describing the guy to John.

"Okay. Thanks. Now, is there any place he would be hiding? Any place YOU know?"

Alfred began to think.

"If he's found, can you make sure he isn't in the same place as me?"

"I might be able to do something about that. Got any ideas?"

"Well, he has a winter house in the States in the state of Florida. Not sure what city though. He goes there every winter."

"Okay. So, ye've never been to the house?"

"No. Then he has a place in London, and Scottland. That's all I know. I don't know where."

"That's the closest I've gotten yet. Thanks. It might be just what I need to find him."

"I hope so."

"Wait, why do you want him put away too? He helped you."

"Because he betrayed me. That's why."

"Good way or bad way?"

"There's no 'good' betrayal."

"Not what I meant. It sounded way better in my head."

The both of them laughed.

"Okay. Well, I'll come by tomorrow around noon."

"Great. I'll be here. Now, go find this guy."

"Oh, what's his name?"

"Jason. He never gave me a last name, although that could just be an alias."

"I know. I'll check it out."

"Let me know."

"I will. As I said, I'll be back tomorrow. When I leave here, I'll look up everything you told me. See if I can find him this afternoon or tonight."

The two stood up and John had done something he never thought he would do in a million years. He gave Alfred a hug before walking off.

Would you look at that? John's trust for Alfred is slowly building up. What's going to happen next?
