After the two had their lunch, they went back to work on their sixth album. John was half way through a cigarette when their other half showed up.
"Ey." Ringo said.
"Ey lads. Glad you decided to join us."
"What all did you accomplish?"
"We are 'alf way through the list of songs for our show and 1/3 done with the song."
"You got alot done."
"Not really. Been working all morning. What time is it anyways?" Paul asked.
"3pm."
"Is that all? It feels later than that."
John picked up the list of songs for their show and began viewing it again. "Okay. We got five more songs to add. Help! as the sixth one."
Paul took the paper from John and wrote it down. "Okay. Got it."
"I feel fine, Yesterday, Roll over Beethoven...................okay, we need one more."
"What about A Hard Day's Night."
"Okay. That'll be our last one."
Paul wrote down the rest of the songs and handed the list to John, who gladly accepted it and started looking at it. "Okay. This is good."
"Want to practice these songs?"
"Why practice? We play them everyday. No need to rehearse."
"You do want it perfect don't ye?"
"It will be. Trust me. If we play them everyday, we'll be fine. There may be one or two mess-ups but that'll be it."
"Okay." Paul said nodding.
Ringo spoke up. "Let me see that list."
John handed it to Ringo and he got a look at the songs. "Ye know, I'm kinda nervous about this show."
"Why? It isn't for another few weeks."
"I know. I can be nervous can't I?"
"I guess so. But its too early now."
"Its only for one night. After the show, you can relax."
"But I want to relax now."
"Are ye shaking?"
"No. I 'aven't gotten to that point yet. Maybe within the next few days I will be."
"I know you will be hours before."
"Yeh. Please don't remind me of how many people will be there."
"Awe. Come on. Don't you want to imagine it?" John asked.
"No way! Don't you dare Lennon."
"Fine. I won't. But know this, Next week, I will."
"No you won't."
"Yes I will. I want to scare you to death."
"I'm already scared."
Then, George got to thinking. "Ey, John, what if someone tries to hurt me there?"
"No one will hurt you. Trust me. Trust that we will make sure nothing happens to you. Even at this show. I don't think anyone would be stupid enough to want to get to ye in public."
"No, but it could happen."
"I know it could. It won't."
John looked over at the other three. "So, how about we do a little something fun before we have that show, just to calm everyone's nerves."
"Great idea."
"Okay. When it closer to the date, maybe a week before.........which would be next week, we try to do something fun."
*************
It was now five days before their show. Each of them had their anxiety shooting through the roof. Even though they loved going to shows, they were also terrified.
At 9am, they all met to go biking, as usual. Now was the perfect time to discuss what they could do to get their minds off the upcoming show.
The four of them met at Netherwood St one at a time, with Ringo being the first one, followed by George, Paul , then lastly, John.
"Everyone ready?"
"No." John said. Then, everyone stared at him. "Oh. You meant the ride. I tought you meant the show. Yes. I'm ready for the ride."
Paul snickered. "I don't think any of us is ready for the show."
"Well, we are but we aren't."
"Right."
Ringo started riding first, and the others followed along. George took a deep breath. His nervousness was starting to show.
"Ey. Geo, we still have 5 days before the show."
"I know. What, I can't be scared five days before?"
"No. You can. Today, we'll do something fun to get our minds off the show. Deal?"
George smiled. "I hope it works."
"It should. Just the four of us. Have a boys night out. Maybe go on a boat, fishing later on today or something."
"Ey. A boat ride sounds fun."
"Everyone agree to a boat ride?"
"Yeh." Ringo and George said in unison.
"Very well. Its settled then. We rent a boat for the day. Have a bit of fun. Maybe even swim in the water. How's that sound?"
"Like the perfect 'getaway' from the show." George said.
John took his hands off the handles again.
"John! What did I tell you about that?"
"Uh...........I don't remember. Look, I can do it without falling! I'm perfectly fine."
"Until you fall."
"I'm not going to fall."
"You might. You might break yer arm or something. Do you really want to risk that before the show?"
"The most that's going to happen is that I might get a scrape or two. I have never broken a bone in me life."
"No. But it could happen just days before our show. We don't want that now do we?"
"I'm not going to break a bone."
"Don't even say that. You could. Now, put yer hands back on the handles right now!"
