The two have been sitting at the kitchen table for a couple hours.

"So, why isn't Paul over here helping you?"

"He's in bed. Had a very interesting morning. He kicked me out of his house. How dare he."

George laughed. "Yeh. How could he?" He said sarcastically.

"Ey. Just so you know, no one has ever kicked me out of their house before."

"Oh really? Not when you were a kid?"

"No."

"Are you sure about that? A previous girlfriend never got mad at you for any reason? Any reason at all?"

"Okay. Okay. I get what yer saying."

"And Cyn never kicked you out for any reason?"

"No. Not since we've been living together."

"Haven't had an argument with her?"

"Nope. Our marriage is perfect."

"No one has the perfect marriage."

"I do."

"When was the last time the two of you argued?"

"That's a hard question. Been a while."

"So, you admit, you argue sometimes."

"Yeh. So?"

"So, that's not a 'perfect' marriage."

"It is so. All couples argue at some point."

"Okay. Lets change the subject."

"Okay." John said happily. "Wait, one more question. Do you and yer 'fiance' ever argue?"

"On occasion. But we work it out."

"Okay. Now we can change the subject."

George nodded and set aside the papers he and John had been looking at before their conversation started. "So, since tomorrow is January, what do you plan to do?"

"Oh, I don't know. I'm not into that 'New year, new me' stuff. I am as I am every year. I'm not changing me because its a new year."

"I know what you mean. Me either."

"So, besides getting hitched, what else have you got planned?"

"I don't know. Its not even tomorrow yet. I'll wait and see what tomorrow holds. So, how's yer father?"

"He's okay. Spending the next three months behind bars so hopefully, he'll learn his lesson."

"What makes you so sure he will?"

"I'm not 100% sure since he's still trying to gain my trust."

"I thought he had yer trust completely."

"No. Very little trust from me. We'll see how he is once he's out and walking the streets."

"But why are you trusting him?"

"I'm not trusting him. Don't get mad. See, I knew if I told you about this, it would be a mistake."

"It wasn't a mistake John. I deserved to know. I asked, and you told me."

"I didn't want you upset with us and I knew you would be."

"I'm not upset John. How many times do I have to say that? I'm not upset about what you and Paul kept hidden."

"Okay. Okay. Lets not argue. Listen, you can be part of this if you want but me and Paul are going to find him for you."

"I think I'll leave that up to you two."

"Are you sure ye don't want to join?"

"Yeh. Positive. Can't take any more of that. Plus, I don't want Paul knowing that I know. I don't wanna get you in trouble with him."

"Yeh. Thanks for saving me."

***********

It was evening time when Paul finally decided to drop by, way after George had left but John didn't answer the door so he figured he was asleep or something, so he decided to leave and do his own thing. He went back home and turned on the television.

Paul was just flipping through the channels, not really finding anything interesting to watch. After about a total of 10 minutes, he shut it off.

He then laid on the couch and just stared at the ceiling for a bit. He picked up a book and began reading it. He was reading it for a good hour before he started getting tired. He tried so hard to keep his eyes open but failed and slowly shut his eyes. His arm dropped from the couch and the book slowly slid from his hands and dropped on the floor.
