"Thank you all so much for helping me," (Y/N) bowed to the many Kato clan members. "I've learned so many things from all of you! Words can not begin to explain how grateful I am."
"Now, now keep your head high, you've taught us many things as well! Thank you for spending so much time with us." Midori's mother spoke happily.
"We will miss you deeply young lady." A bittersweet grin formed on the elderly women's face.
"All of us will miss you." Midorima chimed in a bashful smile on his face.
"Before you go please take this." He reaches into his pocket and pulled out a necklace. It looked like it was made from thin leather material and held a pendant that was green and shaped like a teardrop.
"Don't you forget about me ok?" He sighed and stuck his hand out so she could receive the necklace.
"I could never." She smiled and grabbed the necklace gently, and swiftly put on her neck.
"It's lovely."
"Just like you huh?"
"Alright, Midorima that's enough." Yamato made his way into the conversation. He sounded as if he was her father since at this point, he saw (Y/N) as his own child. Everyone chuckled and bid farewells to each other.
"Thank you again, everyone now let us go home." Midori smiled and they began there long travel up north to Konaha.
***
"Something's not right." (Y/N) sighed they were a week away from Konaha and she began to feel a strange feeling in her heart.
"What do you mean?" Midori asked as they all sat around a bonfire.
"There is something wrong... I-I can't tell but something isn't right." She sipped water from her canteen a frown in her face.
"I'm sure it's nothing." Yamato yawned and placed his head on Midori's shoulder.
Sasuke you did something I can feel it. The Uchiha thought to herself now afraid to go home. She knew something happened she didn't know exactly what, but she could undoubtedly sense it.
The next few days the training wasn't as strict since they were all eager to go home. They walked miles through the forest until they were finally on the main road to Konaha.
"You're awfully quiet." Yamato chuckles nudging his pupil teasingly.
"Yeah were so close we should be home by sundown." Midori smiled her green eyes were brighter now, after getting into a relationship with Yamato she's been extremely happy.
"I told you something isn't right," Her voice resembled the cold one she once had as a young child. "I'm honestly fearful to go back now." She sighed her eyes showed how uneasy she was.
"Non-sense everything is fine!" Yamato said in a comforting tone.
The three continued to walk in silence, with occasional small talk coming from Yamato and Midori. (Y/N)'s heart pulsating faster the closer they got. At one point she felt as if she was going to pass out, but she continued walking all the way through the morning and afternoon sun.
"There they are the main gates." Midori pointed out the obvious.
"Yeah, I can tell." (Y/N) chucked nervously and they slowly got closer.
"Is that (Y/N) Uchiha?" Kotetsu's voice peered through as they reached the main gates.
"No duh, you idiot." Izumo retorted as the trio got closer.
"Welcome back you three." Smiled Izumo as they finally passed the gates.
"Hello, if you could please keep our arrival quite there's no need to attract attention." The Uchiha spoke emotionless while she walked past the gate guards. Yamato and Midori gave them a sorry smile and followed her. The sun was just setting and the village glowed orange. (Y/N) was exhausted from the trip and just wanted to go home and sleep.
They continued walking as the sun slowly faded away until they had finally reached the residency. Quickly (Y/N) took the keys from Midori and entered her very dusty home.
"Jeez, nothing has changed here." She chuckled and walked through the halls of the home. She sluggishly opens her room door and entered. She dropped her bags lazily and dusted off her bed.
"Finally I'm back." She smiled and threw herself on her bed. She felt odd laying in it her legroom was limited now compared to when she first had slept in it.
Soon after she adjusted herself self she heard two footsteps approaching. She closed her eyes and acted if she was asleep.
"I hope the training went well." The first voice spoke.
"Yes! Indeed it did she's grown so much we are both so proud of her." Midori's gleeful voice replied.
"I'll put that to the test tomorrow then; I'll let her rest for now." She finally recognized the voice, it was Lady Tsunade.
She's her so soon how'd she know I've arrived? The Uchiha thought while she slowly felt her body fall into a deep slumber.
"We have upsetting news to tell her, I think it's best she comes to my office first thing tomorrow." Sighed Tsunade as both women reached her room.
"Understood I'll send her up there as soon as she wakes."
***
"You both are absolutely foolish," Itachi spoke coldly at the two Uchiha before him.
"Nothing you can do can stop me." He spat vigorously which made (Y/N)'s blood boil.
"You both our powerless." He then vanished and appeared next to Sasuke and quickly slashed his throat making blood squirt violent from the gash.
"You can't do anything." He hovered over (Y/N) and she stood there paralyzed.
She then woke from the horrific dream; her breathing hard and rash. Sweat pouring from her body as she clutched to her chest in fear. She looked around her room was lit up from the sun and murmurs of voices filled the home.
"She's back and she didn't even say anything?!"
"I'm sorry to barge in Ms.Kato, but I haven't seen her in 3 years and she doesn't even announce that she's arrived!"
"NARUTO!" The dream she had left her mind as she heard her best friend's voice. She hopped out of bed and scurried to the front door. A tall blonde with blue eyes she could never forget stood with a huge smile on his face.
"(Y/N)!!" His eyes lit up and the smile just grew bigger. Midori moved out of the way before the pair could run her over.
"You're back!" He laughed enthusiastically and the Uchiha threw herself into his arms. She hugged him tightly her truest friend, her very first friend had finally outgrown her. His body was tender and warm, she then realized how gentle his chakra felt.
"I've missed you so much Naruto!" She mumbles into his chest.
"God I've missed you even more!" He laughed squeezing her tightly. He still had her, she didn't leave him, she stayed, she wasn't gone.
"So so much." His voice was solemn as the thoughts of Sasuke leaving the village flooded his mind.
