(Y/N) rested in the hospital bed her head pounded from the twenty-four hours of pain she had to endure. Even if she was in that jutsu for a few minutes the pain she endures felt ongoing. She spent days knocked out, but she was in better shape than Kakashi and Sasuke who were hit with the same jutsu.

"I told you don't leave the village and stay put until further notice! But instead, you just leave! I mean look at you!" Midori scorned at the young girl while pinching the bridge of her nose. Shaking her head side to side in disappointment.

"I'm ok Midori I was able to heal myself the only thing that hurts is my head and you yelling doesn't help." Her pupil responded to her voice weak and fragile.

"You could've gotten seriously hurt!" Midori sighed and walked over to (Y/N) and placed her hand gently on the child's forehead.

"What if you move in with me?" She asked lowering her voice so as she realized that (Y/N) was in pain. Her small eyes were shut and her body temperature was hot.

"What do you mean?" The Uchiha asked she felt her head pulsating as the spoke. The sudden change of heart only confusing her more.

"You come and live with me so I can keep an eye on you and you don't have to be alone." She continued and began to run her hands through (Y/N) (h/l) (h/c). Hoping this would help the pain she was enduring.

"It'll be like living with your big sister we'll have so much fun." Midori continued speaking as the Uchiha rested.

"I'd love that." A wholehearted smile appeared on the young girl's face.

"Then it's settled I'll get your stuff into my home while you stay here and rest." Midori's green tea eyes sparkled with joy.

"I'll see you then!" Midori's long black hair tickled (Y/N)'s nose as she stood up quickly to get her pupils belongs moved into her home.

"Bye." (Y/N) spoke softly and with that, her favorite Sensei left.

The Uchiha hasn't even bothered to open here eyes afraid the light will cause more pain. Her body was still sore from the fight.

"Down the hall 4th room to the left, she'll be in there but she still in pain so don't be too loud." A nurse spoke.

"Yeah yeah, it's not like I'm a loud guy anyways."

Footsteps trailed down the hall and down into (Y/N) room.

"She's still sleeping what-"

"I'm awake." She said and Shikamaru flinched from her suddenly speaking.

"Ohh uhh I heard you were here and I wanted to check up on you." He said walking closer to her bed.

"That's very...out of character for you ." She said she began to sit up on her bed so she could properly speak to Shikamaru. Her body ached severely and she scrunched up her face in pain.

"H-hey you don't h-have to get up." He stuttered not wanting to bother the girl that had stolen his heart without him evening knowing yet.

She opened her eyes and to surprise she didn't feel any more pain.

"It's fine Shikamaru I want to talk to you." She spoke and saw that he had a brown bag in his hand.

"Well, I brought you something." He said walking to the side of her bed and setting down. His cheeks were tinted like a tomato red. He put his hand inside the bad and took out to red boxes.

"This my favorite snack so I thought I'd bring you some, I bet the food here sucks." Shikamaru handed her a box his face had a somewhat bothered expression. She took the box and read the writing sukonbu.

"You don't have to give it to me if you don't want too." She said his face made it look like he didn't want to hand her the box, making her feel hesitant taking the snack.

"What makes you think I don't want to give it to you?!" He asked his face was confused from her statement.

"You look so bothered!" She pointed out with a shy look.

"I-If I didn't want to give you one, I wouldn't have brought two!" He retorted his face was now showing a flustered expression.

"Ok ok calm down don't get so worked up Mr. I'm not a loud guy." (Y/N) laughed while opening the snack he gave her.

"You're being awfully energetic for someone in the hospital." Mumbles Shikamaru opening up his favorite snack.

"What exactly is this?" She questioned looking at the green strips she was soon to eat.

"They're a type of seaweed snack with a hint of vinegar." He answered already eating his a small smile lingering on his face.

She took a bite of the strip tasting the sea salt and vinegar mixed with the seaweed. To no surprise, she found it delicious.

"Wow, these are good." She spoke her eyes sparkling with excitement of a new flavor in her mouth.

"Well, of course, I'm not going to bring a distasteful snack over to you!" Shikamaru laughs pushing his lower back at the edge of the bed so he could sit down completely with (Y/N).

"So how are you feeling?" He asked a more relaxed look was finally seen on the Nara.

"To be honest with you my body is sore but my headache has gone down a lot since you got here." She smiled without realizing a seaweed crumb was on the corner of her mouth.

"Is that so," Shikamaru said staring at the crumb that (Y/N) hadn't realized yet.

"Yeah, Well uh how are you Shikamaru?" She asked him but out of nowhere Shikamaru leaned in gently yet quickly swiped the crumb of the corner of her mouth.

"I'm fine now that I got that off your mouth." He said nonchalantly and sitting back to where he was.

The Uchiha's cheeks burned red and her heart rate was pumping extremely fast.

"What's wrong? Do you have a fever?"

"N-No well at least I don't think I do." (Y/N) stammers not being able to comprehend her feeling for the boy in front of her.

"Did you also check on Sasuke?" She asked realizing that her cousin was also with her during the fight.

"To be quite honest I didn't really come to visit him, I just came to see you," Shikamaru said nonchalantly looking at (Y/N) dead in the eyes.

"Oh, I see." She said with a bashful expression.

"When are they letting you out you've been here for about week now right?" He asked (Y/N) Shikamaru has been wanting to go cloud watching again with her. But with her being in the hospital he knew that wouldn't be happening anytime soon.

"Well Midori hasn't told me anything but I feel much better now so I think I'm going to leave today. So I can spend time resting in my new home." (Y/N) smiled in excitement she couldn't wait to live with Midori.

"New home?"

"Yeah, I'm going to live with my Sensei! She thinks it's better for me and I feel like its a good idea." (Y/N) explained to the confused boy in front of her.

"That's good news I bet it sucks living all alone," Shikamaru said, giving (Y/N) a sorry expression.

"It's not all that bad, but change is always good ya know?" (Y/N) said, sounding like her best friend Naruto.

"You've been hanging out with Naruto too much." Shikamaru sighed, shaking his head in disapproval.

"Well, Naruto is really the only friend I actually have." She sighed wishing she could hang out with him again.

"That's not true." Mumbled Shikamaru his face changed into a bothered one.

"What do you mean?" (Y/N) asked she felt bad for making his mood change.

"Wellimyourfriendtoo," He said quickly not letting (Y/N) comprehend.

"Slow down." (Y/N) groaned in frustration.

"I'm your friend too." He clarified while blushing immensely.
