"This is stupid, and you know that," [y/n] sighed as she walked side by side with Shikamaru.

"Stop it and go talk to her today," Shikamaru shoved her lightly.

"Let me go meet Temari with you," she huffed while planting her feet to the ground.

"I said no,"

[y/n] grabbed him by the vest pulling him towards her, "You hiding something from me, Nara?"

"No, Uchiha, but go make some friends you need some," Shikamaru glanced around to make sure no one was nearby.

"When I'm done with today, we can play shogi all night," Shikamaru quickly placed a kiss on her forehead before removing himself from her grip.

"You are mean,"

"Not as mean as you," Shikamaru smirked, pulling [y/n] in by the hips.

"Stop being so cheesy," [y/n] rolled her eyes while wrapping her arms around his neck.

"Be good, okay? If you really need something, I'll be at the training grounds,"

"You talk to me like I'm a little kid," she mumbled while Shikamaru pulled her closer.

"Then stop acting like one," a smug expression appeared on him.

"Oh, is that Choji?" [y/n] lied, which made Shikamaru immediately let go of her and act as if he wasn't doing anything with his girlfriend.

"And you say I act like a child," the Uchiha laughed while Shikamaru frowned.

"Go talk to Hinata today, okay! I have to go now," Shikamaru quickly planted a kiss on her cheek.

"Bye, Shika," she intentionally used his nickname; Shika was only used on rare occasions just to prove the point that he was hers. Only [y/n] Uchiha can call him Shika, no one else can use his nickname, and they both made sure of that.

"Well, if it ain't Shikamaru Nara?" Temari smirked while placing her hand on her hip.

"Hello Temari from the Sand," he responded nonchalantly.

"You still a lazy smart ass?" the olive green-eyed girl questioned.

"You still a loudmouth, troublesome women?" he chuckled in response.

"So you're going to be escorting me around again?" her stomach filled up with butterflies.

"It's a drag, but I don't have much of choice," he yawned as he scratched the back of his head.

"Don't be too excited," she mumbled while walking past him.

"And didn't you say something about a date when I came back?" she blushed lightly as Shikamaru eyes widen. He had forgotten all about that.

"Uh, T-Temari..." Shikamaru stammered as he was ready to break the news.

"Well, of course not today, but before I leave," she interrupted him.

"Temari—" he tried once more.

"Why don't you take me to the training grounds I have seemed to forgotten where they are," she had realized that the emotion that they both shared before was no longer mutual.
