(Y/N) lied in bed once more, thoughts racing in her head. Thinking and strategizing her next steps on finding Sasuke. Out of frustration she jumped quietly got out of bed and flickered to the back door.

She walked around her backyard taking in the crisp night air. She then began to stretch her limbs and crack certain joints of her body. The last couple of years she's trained her body constantly, so now that she's been having somewhat of a break she's trying to relieve some tension.

"Let's do some fundamentals," She whispered to her self and flickered to the tree she made long ago.

"Alright let's do this."

She flipped her self into a handstand and focused her chakra onto the palm of her hands. The Uchiha began to climb the tree with her hands.

This got significantly harder! She complained in her head but continued her light training.

"(Y/N) what are you doing?" Her next door neighbor questioned from his back porch.

Suddenly her focus diminished, she swiftly pushed herself off the tree and landed on her feet with a little wobble.

"Sh-Shikamaru! Why are you awake?!" She whispered aggressively.

"Why are you climbing your tree!?" He returned the same tone.

"Don't answer a question with a question!" At this point, their whispers weren't so quite.

"You literally just did that," He muttered and stood up walking towards his side of the fence.

"I... I needed some training," She wasn't lying (Y/N) just wanted fresh air after feeling so trapped in her room.

"Really? At this time of night?" Shikamaru looked at her suspiciously.

"Well your playing shogi," She shot back crossing her arms.

"Not to mention by yourself," she laughed lightly.

"W-well at least I'm not climbing trees late at night," Shikamaru retorted while shoving his hands into his sleeping shorts.

"What about I play with you? You know? So we don't look like utter weirdos," (Y/N) suggested and walked over closer to her side of the fence.

"Do you even know how to play?" Shikamaru questioned the Uchiha before him.

She scoffed and rolled her eyes, "Do I even know how to play," She paused and jumped over the fence gracefully.

"Of course not!"

"You are one troublesome gal," he yawned as he felt the burden of staying up late.

"What? You tried?" She chuckled as she got closer to him.

"You know I don't get you," He spoke changing the topic.

"What do you mean?" She asked tilting her head in confusion.

"Your happy one minute and sad then next," he took a pause and examined her.

"You're just so troublesome now," He yawned once more.

"Well you haven't changed a bit, you're still a lazy smart butt," she mocked not really knowing what to say.

"Smart butt?" He laughed lightly.

"Yeah you're a smart butt," She blushed and looked away from his chocolate-colored eyes.

"Okay don't hurt yourself now, let's uh go play one match." He smiled lightly and grabbed her wrist.

Which shocked the Uchiha her heart began to race and her cheeks grew hotter. He took her up to his backyard porch and brought her to the shogi board.

"So you won?"

"Too easy," he smirked and looked up to the drowsy Uchiha.

"What? You're tired?" He mocked and rested the board game.

"Maybe," She yawned and rubbed her eyes.

"Your welcome to stay here," he also yawned but got up in the process.

"Huh?" Her eyes widen in surprise.

"My parents went on some date night thing, they left around eight o clock won't be back till morning." He explained.

"What time is it right now?" She asked still staying seated.

"Uhh 11:30 ish," he responded and stuck his hand out for her to grab it. For some reason he enjoyed helping her up he's done it since they were kids.

"What about we watch the stars?" She suggested.

"Uh sure," Shikamaru had let go of her hand.

I don't know if this is a drag, or if it's a good thing. He thought to himself.

"Let me go get some blankets," He walked off and (Y/N) walked towards the empty part of the balcony. Once Shikamaru returned he placed the blanket down.

"Here in case you get cold," he said a tossed her one of his sweaters.

"Th-thanks." She stuttered and sat down on the blanket. Shikamaru also did the same, but they didn't speak. It wasn't awkward either they just enjoyed the moment. It was peaceful and relaxing, to the point where (Y/N) began to doze off. The last thing she remembered was putting his sweater on and resting her head on his shoulder.

Shikamaru couldn't help but stare at her as she slept. What he saw just looked right, the Nara crest on her back and how peaceful she looked. After learning and seeing everything she's gone through all he wanted was for her to feel peaceful.

"I knew you coming back would stir with my emotions," he sighed quietly so it wouldn't wake her.  He then felt his eyes getting heavy and realized that it's better if she slept on a bed. He carefully carried her bridal style, but instead of her waking up she cuddled in closer to him.

Yeah, this is a drag. He thought but a small smile could be seen on his face.
