"So did your mission go accordingly?" Shikamaru asked as he took her to their hill. He held her hand as soon as they were out of sight.

"As much as it really could," she sighed and squeezed his hand in comfort.

"Anything you can tell me?" his thumb rubbed the back of the Uchiha's hand.

"I rather wait so I can tell Naruto as well," Shikamaru let go her hand, and [y/n] had realized that the Nara had gotten tense.

"What's the matter?" she questioned and lumped her self on the hill.

"It's nothing," he continued standing his face wasn't too happy.

"Come," she smiled and patted her laps. He ignored her and watched the clouds pass by the orange hue sky.

"Stop being such a baby and lie down with me," she demanded while patting her laps once more.

"I'm not being a baby," he mumbled and plopped next to her and then slowly rested his head on her thighs.

"Why are you being so moody?" she rested her hand on his forehead.

Shikamaru closed his eyes avoiding the conversation. He realized he was upset for no reason and he didn't want to cause an argument. The Uchiha chuckled and she began to play with Shikamaru's ponytail.

"After the massacre and when Lord Third gave me my allowance. I went to go eat I didn't know where at the time but I knew that I was hungry. I was walking in search of a good spot when suddenly a big old goof smashed into me. We fell into the ground and then a spiky-haired boy offered me his hand and kindly lifted me up," she creased his sleepy face and a small smile formed on hers.

"I guess that day I met my first friend," she planted a kiss on Shikamaru's forehead.

"Naruto isn't someone you should worry about he's like my brother, but if you're worried about competition keep your eye on Neji Hyuga! Because he's a dreamboat," Shikamaru opened his eyes and gave her a death glare.

"You're being troublesome,"

"You're so cute when your angry!" she squished his cheeks in a teasing way.

"Quit it!" he flicked her hands gently.

"You're no fun," [y/n] huffed and flicked his nose.

"Oh, I'm no fun?"

"Yeah you're-" Shikamaru then lifted his upper body up and pinned the Uchiha down by her wrist. He then hovers his body of hers. [y/n]'s eyes widen in surprise her cheeks burned in what she hadn't realized was lust.

"I'm fun when I want to be," he had a cocky smirk plastered on her face.

"Can I kiss you?" The Uchiha's heart was racing in excitement.

"Don't ask just do it," his voice was low and hot, and as they leaned in a voice boomed into the couple's ears.

"WOAH! WOAH! WOAH!" A yellow flash then appeared in front of [y/n]'s eyes and Shikamaru had disappeared from above her.

"Wh-what the?" The Uchiha looked around and saw Shikamaru in a headlock by no other than Naruto Uzumaki.

"Naruto let him go!" She yelled and used her wood release to pry them away.

"He was! He was! I'm confused what's going on here!?"

"You idiot! Why don't you mind your own business!" Shikamaru shouted and he moved next to the Uchiha.

"Wait a minute..." Naruto squinted his eyes suspiciously as he examined the pair in front of him. The two had their cheeks flushed red but they still looked furious.

"Don't tell me you guys are finally dating!?" Naruto laughed hunching over at now embarrassed couples.

"What do you mean by finally?" Shikamaru spoke his tone as irradiated as ever.

"I mean you guys have been inseparable these past couple months!" Naruto held on to his abdomen as his waves of laughter filled the air.

"Don't be ridiculous Naruto!" [y/n] grabbed a hand full of dirt and threw at the goofy blonde.

"I'm not being ridiculous! You guys are for denying that you guys have feelings for each there," Naruto calmed down his laughter.

"Who said we are denying anything?" Shikamaru snapped and [y/n] looked at him in surprise.

"I thought you wanted to keep our relationship a secret?" The Uchiha kept a calm demeanor, but she was thrilled to know that she won't need to hold back her affection to Shikamaru anymore.

"Honestly that's just going to be too troublesome, well at least for you," he sighed and he shifted his body backing using his arms to support his weight.

"You're guy's relationship was never a secret!" Naruto threw a pebble he found at the Uchiha, but she dodged by only using her peripheral vision.

"Shut up Naruto," she shushed him, but still kept her pupils locked on Shikamaru.

"So we are official?" she questioned but emphasized the word official. Here's where Shikamaru struggled at this point he would have placed his calloused hand on her soft cheek, and then plant a kiss on her lips as his answer to her question, but his pride was on the line since his annoying friend Naruto was present. Shikamaru looked over at Naruto who was watching them attentively a mocking smile plastered on his face.

"Sure," he responded acting as if he didn't care. The Uchiha twitched in anger at his response, but she knew he only acted this way around other people. His pride always got the better of him, and [y/n] knew that would be an obstacle to overcome.

"Well, that's that!" Naruto shot up while dusting his hands and attire.

"[y/n] Uchiha is off the market!" Naruto then patted the top of her head in an endearing way.

"Naruto!" she blushed and he swatted his hand away.

"I'll see you two love birds later!" the blonde-haired goof smiled and waved off. Shikamaru waited until his friend was finally out of sight.

"So where were we?" Shikamaru smirked and attempted to resume the position they were in previously. [y/n] allowed him to do so as a mischievous smirk played on her lips. Shikamaru was about to lean in but the Uchiha turned her face before his lips touched hers.

"Say it,"

Shikamaru groaned knowing exactly what she was talking about. He rolled his eyes but he placed his hand on her face, gently turning it to look at his again.

"Yes [y/n] Uchiha we are official," he mumbled the sentence with a hint of a smile on his lips. [y/n] smiled in satisfaction and Shikamaru chuckled shaking his head side to side.

"Ok, now you can kiss me,"
