"So what did you find out?" Naruto hadn't even allowed [y/n] to enter her own home before bombarding with questions.

"He was where I predicted and I found out their next location so we should go there within these next couple months," her eyes were drowsy and she was just exhausted I general. 

"You want to get some ramen?!" Naruto smiled as they walked towards the ramen shop.

"Naruto I'd love to but I'm exhausted! I'm just going to go home and rest," she continued walking as Naruto stopped.

"Oh okay! I'll see you later!" You could tell he had more questions to ask, but he respected [y/n]'s wishes and he let her be. As she got closer to her home she saw that the Nara residency was empty.

"Aw I wanted to see Shikamaru," she sighed to herself as she walked into her front yard.

"[Y\N]!!!!!!!" Midori and Yamato boomed out the door scaring their favorite child. Though they weren't her biological parents they will always see her as there kid.

"oof!" [y/n] exhaled as the three collide together.

"I'm so glad you're safe!" Midori was practically crying.

"Why didn't you let us go with you?!" Yamato also seemed to be on the verge of tears.

"I travel faster when I'm alone that's all," she yawned while patting them on the back.

"How's everything here?" the family released themselves and walked towards the home.

"Oh same old same old, missions here and there, Shikamaru asked for my permission to allow you both two date," Yamato emphasized the last part.

"He what?!?" [y/n] slammed the door in surprise and fear.

"Shikamaru asked for my approval to allow you both to date," he crossed his arms and Midori just gave her pupil a nervous smile.

"When were you going to tell us you and Shikamaru were getting close?"

"Uhhh... I was planning to but you know it just never came up," her voice was shaky as she tiptoed towards her room.

"Soooo how long have you both been spending time together?" Yamato raised an eyebrow.

"Aww come on Yamato Sensei I just got here let me shower before you scorn me," she whined and pulled herself into her room only letting her head peer out.

"Fine! But we are talking when you're done!"

"YESSIR!"

"So how long?" [y/n] had barely sat down on the living room couch as Yamato and Midori sprung out of nowhere. Midori was really excited and interested in the conversation. While Yamato was being the strict parent in this situation.

She let out a nervous sigh, "We've been friends since I was a child, we started hanging out every once in a while in my genin/chunin days, and things got "serious" when I came back from training," she rambled on but she summed up most of their relationship.

"He's a good guy, but we were supposed to ask you together," she mumbled look down to her feet.

"And I haven't seen him yet so I can't yell at him!" she sighed in frustration.

"You've arrived and he hasn't visited you, I'm not sure how good of a guy he is!" Yamato scoffed and rolled his eyes.

Meanwhile, Shikamaru was struggling to knock on the Kato residency's front door. A bouquet of flowers in his hand and a flustered look on his face.
