The following day at school, Nally spotted Zach and his friend Calliso in the hallway. Just as she was about to greet them, a word from Zach caught her attention, causing her to pause. Intrigued, she discreetly positioned herself behind a nearby wall.

"What's the story behind that necklace? You've been looking at it almost all the time," Calliso inquired.

"I gave it to her once. She left it behind when she felt she had to leave," Zach replied.

"Are you planning to give it back to her?" Calliso pressed.

Zach remained silent, but a smile spread across his face.

"Fine, keep your secrets. I can read that smile like a book anyway," Calliso teased, prompting a chuckle from Zach.

"Good morning," Nally chimed in as she appeared behind them.

Upon seeing her, Calliso shot Zach a knowing look, conveying a message that Zach immediately understood. "Catch you later," he said to Zach before turning to Nally and giving her a nod before heading off.

Nally noticed Zach quickly tuck the necklace into his pocket, confirming her suspicions about who it was intended for. It filled her with fear, but she didn't let it show. "How are you?" she asked, her tone tinged with concern.

"I'm doing better than okay," he replied, a smile lighting up his face.

"I'm really glad to hear that... Oh, by the way, are you planning to attend the concert this Friday night? The Gibbons and Hugo Grant will be there, and it's all anyone can talk about!" she exclaimed with excitement.

"Well, I'm not sure, Nal. I'd really love to go, but I'm currently tied up with a deadline," he answered, his tone conveying uncertainty.

"Come on, it's just one night. Bring your friends along. We all need to unwind sometimes," she insisted, a smile playing on her lips.

"I'll try," he answered, returning her smile.

"Okay then, catch you later... Oh, do you know? Clair was absent from class this morning," she mentioned, not waiting for him to respond before she left. She felt uneasy maintaining a facade of cheerfulness in front of him. She realized she had to take action. She couldn't bear the idea of losing the person she had truly loved for the first time.

Zach was troubled by what he had discovered. He pulled out his phone to check for any messages from Clair, but there were none. The fact that Roy hadn't shown up in their class only added to his concern. He searched for Clair's number and dialed it, but her phone went unanswered. Unable to reach her, he felt a sense of unease, knowing there was nothing more he could do but wait for her to reach out. With a heavy heart, he made his way back to the classroom, feeling disheartened.

After the afternoon classes, Nally headed to the library to pick up some books she needed for their upcoming exams. As she walked between the shelves, she caught sight of someone occupying Zach's usual spot. Though she was at a distance, she couldn't discern if it was him or someone else. Intrigued, she approached quietly.

As she drew nearer, she discovered Zach fast asleep, his arms folded beneath his head on the table. A smile played on her lips as she found him adorable in his slumber. Then, something caught her eye: a necklace clutched in his hand.

Suddenly, unease crept over her. A troubling thought persisted in her mind, one she struggled to shake off. It felt as though there was an inner voice whispering negative thoughts. Breathing heavily, she closed her eyes, attempting to regain composure. When she reopened them, she glanced back at Zach, still peacefully asleep. With deep sadness, she turned away, preparing to leave. However, just before taking a step, she hesitated, then turned back. Slowly and delicately, she reached out and gently pried open Zach's fingers.
