Hilgen's eyes were filled with sorrow as he watched Cerro's worsening condition. "Hang in there. I'll get the doctor," he said softly.
"No," Cerro gasped, wincing with pain. "She needs time," he managed to say, struggling to get the words out.
Hilgen's gaze shifted upward, searching for Frendil. He spotted him perched atop a building, grinning down at them. Hilgen's anger flared. "You, vile bastard," he muttered. Rising swiftly, he spread his wings and leaped into the air, gripping his trident tightly. With a burst of speed, he charged straight at Frendil.
Frendil showed no fear as he spread his wings and dove toward Hilgen. Their weapons clashed with a resounding clang, the sound echoing through the air. The two exchanged a flurry of strikes, metal ringing with each blow. Hilgen managed to outpace Frendil momentarily, landing a cut across Frendil's abdomen. Black blood gushed from the wound, but Frendil simply lifted his head with a malevolent grin, as if the injury meant nothing.
"Feeling satisfied now?" Frendil taunted. "You might want to check your weapon."
Hilgen glanced at his trident and saw small cracks forming along the blades.
"Let's see how this plays out. Maybe two more strikes, and you'll share your brother's fate down there," Frendil continued mockingly. "But I'll be generous today. How about I give you a minute to flee before I finish you off?"
"Keep your so-called generosity. I'll make sure you die by my hand!" Hilgen roared with fury as he charged at Frendil.
Frendil met the attack with calm precision, deflecting Hilgen's trident with his sword. Though the force of the clash sent him crashing against the wall of the building behind him. Hilgen pressed on, forcing his weapon forward.
"You know what makes dark weapons superior?" Frendil jeered, laughing. "Because they're unbound to inflict savage suffering on their victims! And that's the fun part!"
Just as the trident was about to pierce Frendil's chest, its blades shattered into pieces. Frendil retaliated with a brutal headbutt, knocking Hilgen off balance. Seizing the opportunity, Frendil severed Hilgen's right wing. Hilgen screamed in agony as he fell, plummeting fifty feet to the ground.

Clair emerged from the chasm, wielding her scythe, which pulsed with dark power. Bolts of dark electricity crackled and arced from its blade, igniting the air with ominous sparks. A shroud of dark smoke and mist began to swirl around her. Without hesitation, Clair's eyes locked onto Frendil, black blood streamed down one side of his face. She charged at him with blinding speed, lifting her scythe high and unleashing a swift, brutal swing.
"Yes! Come to me! Release all your anger and hatred!" Frendil bellowed. He blocked Clair's strike with his sword, but the force was overwhelming, sending him tumbling backward.
She pursued him relentlessly as he spun uncontrollably through the air. By the time he hit the ground, she was already on his heels. Their weapons clashed once more, and the sheer force of Clair's strike drove Frendil deeper into the ground, creating a crater. She flapped her wings furiously to amplify her force.
Frendil glanced up at her fierce expression and managed a strained smile. "You and I are not so different," he said, his voice trembling. His sword began to crack, but he kept his gaze locked on her. "With this power, you can achieve anything. They will fear you, and you'll finally have the freedom you seek."
She remained silent. As Frendil's sword continued to fracture, his stare remained defiant. "You... could become... a god," he gasped. His weapon shattered, and the scythe sliced cleanly through his neck, severing his head.
