Per's concern was evident as she asked, "It's been a week since Clair left. What do you think is happening up there?"
Ark, equally troubled, replied, "I'm not sure either. It could be going well, or it could be a disaster." He glanced at her. "How's Zach holding up?"
Per's gaze dropped, her tone heavy with sadness. "Last time I saw him, it was clear he's not okay. He puts on a brave face, but his eyes reveal the fear and struggle he's trying to hide." She sighed heavily. "Do you still think it was right to push Clair into this?" she asked, her voice filled with doubt.
Ark's tone was steady and assured. "You're overlooking something, Per. Yes, we guided Clair into this situation, but it's through that journey that she began to rediscover herself, piece by piece. I don't regret it for a moment."
He thought back to when Clair had put her life on the line to save him in the pit, when the welvethors were dragging him under. Despite her severe injuries, she fought through pain to grasp his hand and pull him to safety. Since that moment, he owed her his life.
"Till the end," Per said, raising her glass of whiskey.
"Till the end," Ark echoed, lifting his glass in turn.
They clinked their glasses and took a deep drink, a testament to their loyalty and gratitude for the one who had given them a second chance at life.

Jacksen was lounging on Zach's bed, scrolling through his social media feed when Calliso walked into the room. "Man, it's nothing but bad news. Fraud, drugs, murder, massacre, war, suicide. The world's gone completely insane, hasn't it?" Jacksen said, looking up at his friend.
Calliso tossed his bag on the table and began pulling off his shirt. "You remember that pale guy Trich was making fun of in the corridor?"
"Yeah, what about him?" Jacksen asked, intrigued.
Calliso slipped into a sweater. "He got caught with a gun in the bathroom."
"No way," Jacksen exclaimed, sitting up.
"Yeah," Calliso replied, flopping onto his bed. "I wonder who he planned to shoot... Maybe Trich."
"That's why I don't mess with guys like that. They're like ticking bombs, ready to explode when they hit their limit... Speaking of bombs, did you hear about the two massive jailbreaks in Miami and Texas? They used explosives," Jacksen said. "Just imagine walking down the street and running into one of those escapees," he added anxiously.
When Calliso didn't respond, Jacksen glanced over at him. Calliso was staring at his phone, looking anxious.
"What's up?" Jacksen asked.
"Minneapolis," Calliso murmured, still engrossed in his screen.
"What?" Jacksen inquired, his tone unsure.
"Minneapolis International Airport was attacked by terrorists... last night," Calliso said quietly.
"Really?" Jacksen exclaimed.
"I have relatives working there," Calliso said, his voice low and filled with concern. He then played a video of a news report about the attack. Within minutes, he received a call from his dad. As he answered, his face went pale with terror. Without a word, he hurried outside, leaving Jacksen deeply worried.
