"Looks like they've reunited," remarked the bearded man, adjusting his unbuttoned gray suit as he held up a photo of Clair and Zach entering a beach resort hotel. With a closer look at another photo, he noticed them on the hotel's rooftop, Clair's wings on full display, though the shot came out blurry because it was captured from a distance location.

As he shuffled through more photos scattered on the table, the young man in the black suit across from him passed over a folder.

The older man flipped it open, revealing a stack of papers inside. There was a photo of Zach in the top right corner of the first page.

"All the details about the boy are in here," the young man informed him.

"And what about her?" inquired the old man.

"We've got her current address. She's still with the two, but there's another one who seems to be frequenting their residence. That's him in the photo. We don't have much information about him yet," the young man explained, pointing to a photo of Cerro leaving the mansion. "He's quite elusive, unlike the other three," he added. "She goes to the same school as the boy, but according to my sources, she's currently on medical suspension. Apparently, something happened a few weeks back," he explained.

The old man gave him a serious glance. "I hope that 'something' is worth my attention, Yustin," he responded.

Yustin retrieved another photo from his pocket and laid it on the table. The old man examined it. It was an image of Clair racing into an alley, clutching her eye in distress, with dark, thin smoke emanating from her, suggesting a transformation was taking place. "That happened after she saw the boy with another girl. He was right about what he told us. The boy is her weakness," he concluded.

The old man rose from his chair and strode toward the glass wall behind his table.

"What's the next move, Mr. Volkov?" Yustin inquired.

"Bring me the boy," Mr. Volkov commanded, his tone firm.

After three weeks passed, Clair's incision finally healed completely. During this time, Zach also started training with Ark. Clair supported the decision, believing he would be safer if he could relearn to defend himself.

On Zach's last day at the mansion, Roy paid a visit. Though tension still simmered between them, Roy managed to keep his composure unlike before. They all gathered in the mansion's expansive backyard, observing as Zach and Ark exchanged strikes with their swords.

Roy couldn't help but notice Clair's proud expression as she witnessed Zach's progress in combat. "Let's be honest. You're wasting your time. No matter how much you train him, he'll always be a puny little hivrin," Roy said.

Clair scoffed. "We're not changing him into someone else. We're doing this--" she paused, then shook her head. "Never mind, I forgot you don't value the little things. Why are you even here today anyway?" she asked, avoiding eye contact.

"Is your love solely reserved for that boy? It seems to make you heartless toward me," he retorted, also avoiding her gaze.

"Let's avoid discussing topics that contradict our beliefs. We know how that ends," she replied.

"Beliefs... often a root cause of evil among hivrins... I hope you haven't fallen into such foolishness," he remarked.
