Ahonoama Cuenco

"What will you do this weekend?" Mama asked while were having dinner with the family.

"Uh, pamper?" Not sure. "Or I might just take turn to the shop." I said.

"Bakit sya lagi tinatanong mo mama, porket favorite mo sya!" Bianca said and pout, we laugh. She always does that!

"I know you're busy apo, and tuwing weekend ay umuuwi sa probinsya ng daddy mo itong si Anitha kaya wala akong kasama." Mama said.

"Well I have a big project in my hotel so you're right mama, just ask Aho." Bianca said and laugh.

Mama look at me with hopeful eyes.

"Shall we date mama?" I asked. Kumislap ang mata nya kaya napangiti ako.

"We should visit Mang Pedro and fish with him, what do you think Aho-apo?" Ngumiti ako.

"That's a good idea! Matagal na tayong hindi nakakabisita kila Mang Pedro!" I said.

Tumango si mama at tila natutuwa sa plano namin.

Kinabukasan ay pumasok ako, friday.

Everyone is busy and we ran out of stocks so I have to run to the market to buy necessary good for the weekends sa Linggo pa kasi dadating ang order namin.

I was busy looking for a sugar when I heard a famillar voice.

I can't be wrong. My heart started to beat fast as if it'll lose into a race if it stops.

Pumikit ako ng mariin.

"Do you think this will be enough for the whole week?" The familiar deep voice.

I must be mistaken right?

Please, I heard the voice wrong, and matagal ko ng hindi naririnig ang boses na iyon, I'm sure it change.

"You know him, he might bring friends over or his office's stuffs." I slowly look at the person who's talking and to my horror, isang pamilyar at matipunong lalake. I close my eyes but when I open it, it's real! Its him!

Or not?

The man is looking at the goods so I can only see the side of his face, they look the same!

Baka kamukha nya lang.

When the man was about to look at my side I immediately turn around.

Its him! But it's not!

Oh my gosh I must be crazy!

I've gone mad!

I rush taking all the goods I need and went to the shop to stock them!

After a tiring day I went home and mama kept on reminding me about fishing.

"We will go there okay mama, dont spoil it okay?" My old lady nod as I lay her in bed.

"I knew you'd grow this pretty." I smile. "Now I see that you really look like your mom."

"Everyone says that." I shrugged.

"Ayokong makulong ka dito buong buhay mo, is baking really your dream o napilitan ka lang?" I smiled.

"I-i'm happy here m-mama, this is my life now--" Naiilang na sabi ko.

"You shouldn't be contented in things that aren't really for you." She held my hair and stroke it downwards. "Soon you'll go out to the world to clear your name, ayokong dito ka lang. You're not suppose to be here, promise me. "Tumingala ako para pigilan ang luha. "You'll show the world that you're not guilty and you'll live the life that you've always wanted, the life that is really for you. You'll live as Ahonoama Cuenco." Napatango lang ako habang umiiyak.
