Even God, the "frightening" God of the Old Testament cried and lamented that His people didn't have the heart to serve Him.
Deuteronomy 5:29,O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!
God longs to bless and save us, He longs to be among us! It is us who are shunning Him. Shame!
Trials come to show us what is in our heart, for God already knows all. If we truly feared God we would keep from sin. If we would only realize His Holiness hasn't changed! Every knee will bow before our King! Watch that we don't desert God in the bad times. Cling to Him! Obey Him, no matter the cost.
True servants of the Lord fear, obey and love Jesus. He is our Prize, our greatest Treasure. Life is nothing without Him. Never esteem anything higher than our God. Ever. The world's pleasure isn't worth damnation. Remember that.
Psalm 66
Make a joyful noise unto God- not a dreary, half hearted noise. Doesn't He deserve our enthusiasm, energy and best? Praise the Lord! Sing to Him! How awesome, formidable is our God! There is none like our Jesus! All is under His greatness. Worship! Sing! Share His truth and salvation! Declare His majesty and salvation! He is all-powerful! He can never ever fail. Ruler of all, let everything humble themselves before Thee! Bless His Name, servants of God, don't keep quiet! He holds us! He tries and purifies us! Don't complain, but cling more! Trust more! Increase your faith in the One greater than all! Fulfill all promises made to the Lord. Witness of His mighty works and testify to believers, too! Extol His majesty.
If we sin willfully, God will not hear us. The contrite and sincere, He hears. His mercy is new every morning! Praise the Lord!
2 Corinthians 3
We are nothing in and of ourselves, all our everything is in God! Jesus is our Hope! The only One who can unveil and turn away blindness is Jesus. The Lord is our Master, yet it is a pleasure to serve. He doesn't enslave, we worship out of free will. Thus, He gives us liberty. Day by day, we're changed into His image, imitating Him.
v 17, Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
