While all care should be taken to train up a child in the way they should go, neither let the child, nor parent think this means a "free" entrance into heaven. It's the Lord who calls. Repentance must be given and forgiveness sought.
Make sure you are serving as a godly influence and role model, and doing your God-given duty as a parent. Encourage your child in the Lord, don't waste precious time.
The Lord requires holiness and a reverential fear of Him. Don't trifle with the things that are holy. Be sanctified, set apart and separated unto Him. Give me an obedient heart! When He nudges you in conviction, yield and repent. Don't muddle it over, discussing with others. Submit immediately. Come daily for cleansing. Don't be rebellious and stubborn. Follow Jesus' example of submission. Live wholly devoted to the Lord, let all else be garbage-dung! Perfect holiness in the fear of the Lord. O God give me grace to walk accordingly.
Am I growing? Do others see Jesus in me?
Be sincere.
Psalm 122/123
There is joy in serving God. There is joy in worshiping the Lord and being in His presence. Give continuous praise to the Lord for He is good!
Pray for Jerusalem. Pray for her people that they come to the saving knowledge of Jesus as Messiah.
When the world is overwhelming, I look to Jesus! Look to Him for all! With the Lord there is mercy. Expect scoffing and hatred for His Name's sake.
Genesis 21
God's Word always comes to pass. His timing is ever perfect. Remember and praise God for His mercies! God sees and cares. It's God who opens our eyes to see sin, danger and mercy. May others see Jesus in me. Keep up a public worship life as much as a private one. Don't be ashamed or stifle.
Jeremiah 2
Declare boldly the whole counsel of God! God recalls when He was our First Love. Israel his starting point in redemption. Open up your ears, heart and eyes to hear the Word of the Lord.
There was no reason to reject the Lord for false gods. He is altogether lovely! Like a Shepherd He tended after Israel.
There is a huge difference between knowing God and knowing Him intimately. Behold the merciful God, the sweetest voice of a God who pleads! He is not willing that any perish, but all come to repentance. If we reject, we bring doom upon ourselves.
The gods of this world are no gods at all. (Romans 1). Don't change the truth into a lie- in doing so, you despise God. All heaven is astonished at the brazenness! If we had the fear of the Lord in us, we would keep from sin. Of old, Jesus has delivered us, we vainly promise not to sin more, yet we run back like a dog to it's vomit. Playing the whore after other 'gods'. We have been called out for God's use and have made ourselves less than perfect by our unfaithfulness. Our righteousness is filthy rags. We cannot rely on our own. Shame on us for being like the Israelite of old that never think about God until we're on our death bed or in dire straights, all else failing us.
Where is our good in trusting in others, our own strength riches, etc, than? They're useless. Don't be obstinate. Receive correction humbly and repent. How often we grieve the Lord. None who reject God will prosper.
Colossians 1
Be faithful. Be faithful in prayer for others as well as yourself. Love for others and faith is trademarks of a believer. God's Word is absolute truth. True salvation brings forth fruit. Desire to be filled with godly knowledge. Desire wisdom and understanding. Desire to know the will of God and be obedient. Walk worthy of your calling. Be pleasing to God, full of good works. Study to shew yourself approved unto God.
Make sure you are growing...progressing...not stagnant. Work in the power of His might, operating in His Spirit and power.
Be patient even in trials and suffering. Count it all joy! Give thanks always! We never have a reason not to praise, even in our deepest trials. If nothing else comes to mind, remember how He has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. Glory! Salvation full and free! All is subject to Jesus, in all; He is first. We are here for His pleasure and glory. He is eternal and everlasting, Head of all.
Despite our darkest sin, His blood washes clean. He will present you faultless, holy, blameless in His sight.
If you continue, grounded, settled, unwavering in the faith.
Don't fall away. Be firm and resolute. Christ, our Hope of glory! Plead, preach, teach, warn others. Labor and strive together with Him. Operate in His strength and His will.
