Chapter 23

We walked into the room and sat down. There was a guy I had never seen before sitting there too. They started to explain to us how they were looking into Nate to get a better idea of what he was capable and it must have flagged the FBI.

Me "What in the shit... You're joking right. FBI? Isn't that a bit much?"

Legal "Well it turns out that he is wanted for hacking into government data bases. When we searched his name and his personal stuff it set off an alert with the FBI and they contacted us to investigate what our intentions were."

FBI agent "When they told us about your situation we thought that maybe we could use this to our advantage. You seem like the one thing he is willing to come out of hiding for. Maybe if we put your face out there we can draw him here to LA and finally catch him."

Bryce "You mean use her as bait? Nope not happening. I won't let you put her in danger like that."

I sat there being unable to wrap my head around what was going on. I could hear Bryce arguing with everyone but it was muffled out. I got lost in the thought of me being able to finally rid Nate out of my life for good. No more hiding, no more running.

I cut Bryce off ..

Me "I'll do it."

Bryce "Katie think this through. This means that you will have to watch your back everywhere you go until he's caught."

FBI agent "We'll be watching every step of the way. We can guarantee you as long as you dont do anything reckless and keep us updated with what you are doing that we can keep you safe and we can catch him."

Me "Bryce this is my decision and I'm doing it. I just want to be free from it all. And plus what better way to draw him out then to expose our relationship to the world. Our real one..."

Bryce sat there staring at me..

Bryce "If this is really what you want to do then I cant stop you, but we also need to make sure that everyone in this house is up to speed. There are more people involved in this other than Katie. Once we put it out there that you are with us, we all become targets. We'll have to up security and make sure no one goes out alone."

I squeezed his hand. I was ready to finish this chapter of my life and start my new one with my new family.

We finished our meeting and went to tell everyone what was going on. They all seemed as cautious as what Bryce was back in the meeting. They all just wanted to make sure I was safe.

Me "Guys the FBI is taking care of all of that. I mean come on I think we'll be fine."

Griffin "Well can we all agree that Katie doesn't go anywhere with out one of us with her."

They all agreed to that. So I guess I now have my own personal body guards.

Bryce "And Katie I want to hit the gym with you and teach you some self defense moves. I think we just need to make sure you are prepared for anything."

Me "Deal."

We got postmates for dinner and then started talking about Bryce making his post about us. He had all these really good pictures of us but my favorite was from the night of the party when we first met. It was our first real picture together that wasn't staged. It was so genuine and so us. I thought that would be the perfect one to post. Bryce wanted to write the caption on his own. So I promised I would wait till it was posted to read it.
