Chapter 32

22nd June, Saturday

It was already 2 minutes to 5p.m. (Y/N) had been sitting on the bench in front of the station since the last 7 bus had passed him. His hands were tight around his phone, not wanting to miss a call from his boyfriend nor the bus he would come with. He never came late until now and with only 1 minute left it let the boys hopes of seeing him today fall.

"Waiting for someone?" a cheerful voice appeared from behind the (H/C) male out of nowhere, making him jump a little bit.

"Of course, what else could I have thought of you. Probably timed on the second, right?"

"Of course, you know me," Dazai placed a slight kiss on his lover's cheek before pulling him up on his feet, closing his arms around the smaller's body. "I have missed you."

Nodding slightly, (Y/N) wrapped his arms around Dazai, finally knowing that he is fine after almost a month. "Missed you too, idiot," He was somehow still angry, but this feeling quickly got replaced with calmness.

After which felt like way too little time, they pulled apart expect their hands which were now connected through their fingers.

"So, how about a nice take out ice cream date and a walk to a mysterious place?"

"Did you plan out the date we are going to have for your birthday? That's not how it's supposed to be done, you know that...but yes," looking on the ground, he walked next to his lover thinking about the fact that he should have planned something. The fact that he had something planed.

Only a few steps away they entered a small shop which looked cold enough to keep penguins. Inside it was rather warm expect for the ice cream in front of them.

"Two times the chocolate cups and extra waffles please," Dazai had already ordered before (Y/N) was able to finish looking at the menu above the counter.

He kept his mouth shut while watching what happened through the glass. The young lady was placing five different types of ice cream in a big cone, grated chocolate on top of it and two waffles before making the same ice cream again.

Time skip:
After half an hour of walking around the district while talking about what Dazai was doing the last few weeks which ended in (Y/N) telling about what he was doing since his boyfriend couldn't say any more, they reached an old building with a giant park in front of it.

"There we are," smiling as they went to a small bench Dazai lead them through the labyrinth of flowers.

Just as they sat down, (Y/N) noticed that they could see across half of the city in front of them. "This looks more like a surprise for me than for you to be honest."

"Oh no, I had been here once and wanted to come back someday but didn't find the time. Now I have a little time. Nice, right?"

Nodding, the smaller boy took off his bag, unzipping it to search the small box he had placed on the bottom of it.

"Let me give you this before I forget about it in the end..." His voice got smaller as he seemed to fall deeper in his bag. "There it is!"

In his hand was the small box he had bought a few weeks ago, but this time it had a small orange bow on top of it. "I didn't want to buy you something useless or annoying. Don't get your hopes up, it is nothing special."

Handing the box over, he was a bit disappointed thinking that he should have bought something better.

"Aww, that's sweet of you. It has a very nice color. Thank you," Dazai kissed his boyfriend before putting the brooch back in the box and in his pocket. "I will put it on somewhere where I can show it off."

Rolling his eyes, (Y/N) pushed the brown-haired a bit away from him with a smile before leaning against his shoulder. "Sure, you will."

The rest of the evening the two boys spent on the bench, talking about their lives up until now, laughing at the most awkward situations.
