Chapter Twenty Two

"Kelly!" Alexis yelled.
"Need me down there?" Kelly asked.
"Jay's crashing. Kidd fix the elevator now!" Alexis said over the radio.
"Working on it." Kidd said over the radio.
"Jay stay with me." Alexis said.
"It's coming down." Kidd said.
The elevator gets to the main floor and Alexis drags Jay out of the elevator. Alexis speeds to Med.
"Shot in the shoulder guessing the bullet traveled down towards his lung. His breathing has been uneven since I found him." Alexis said.
"I got him." Marcel said.
Hailey stands by the desk ready to cry.
"You have him?" Alexis asked.
"Yeah, you can go." Marcel said.
Alexis walks to Hailey.
"You alright?" Alexis asked.
"He's my partner." Hailey said.
"Jay's more than that." Alexis said.
Hailey stares at her.
"You like him and it's obvious." Alexis said.
Alexis gets a call.
"Go." Hailey said.
She gets to a building fire.
"How is he?" Kelly asked.
"Surgery." Alexis said.
They finish up the call and get back to the firehouse. Alexis sits on Kelly's lap as Squad plays cards.
"What's for lunch?" Cruz asked.
"Ask the candidate." Alexis said.
Alexis gets a phone call.
"Let me go." Alexis said.
"No." Kelly said.
Alexis shows Kelly her phone and he lets go. Alexis runs outside the firehouse.
A: Alexis Morgan.
C: It's Connor.
A: I'm so mad at you.
C: I couldn't handle being at that place. My dad and Ava... I just couldn't.
A: You think you couldn't? Kelly almost died! Luke died. I needed my boyfriend and you left!
C: I'm sorry.
A: whatever. I'm hanging up.
C: Alex, wait.
Alexis hangs up.
Alexis sits back on Kelly's lap.
"How was it?" Kelly asked.
Alexis sighs.
"Your cards suck." Alexis said.
Capp puts down his cards.
"Full house." Kelly said putting down his cards.
"Best Poker face." Alexis said.
Shift ends.
Like usual everyone heads to Molly's.
