Chapter Forty

A week passed since the breakup.
Everyone walks in Firehouse 51 to start their 72 hour shift that they're dreading. Maverick has gotten closer with everyone at 51.
"My favorite hoosier." Maverick said walking up to 61.
"I know." Alexis said sitting on 61's step while Brett does inventory.
"Partner right here." Brett said.
Maverick smiles at his two closest friends.
Ambulance 61, person down for unknown causes.
"Be careful." Alexis said.
"You too." Maverick said.
They get to the call.
"Paramedics." Brett said while at the door.
"On the couch!" Craig shouts.
They get to the living room.
"Radios on the table and phones too!" Craig said as he points a gun at Brett.
"Hey! Point the gun at me!" Maverick shouts only loud enough for them to hear.
They drop their radios and phones on the table.
"Put the gun at me." Maverick said.
"Mave, I'm fine. Not the first time that I had a gun against my head." Brett said.
Craig's friends walk in.
"You got two?" Elijah asked.
"Can I just tell them that we're on our way so they won't get suspicious." Maverick asked.
"If you tell them anything else, both of you are dead." Ezra said.
"Ok." Maverick said.
"61 to Main over the hill look it up." Maverick said over the radio.
Elijah pistol whips Maverick.
"Lets go. We're moving." Craig said.
They get to an abandoned warehouse.
Two hours passes by
"Have you heard from 61 or Brett even?" Alexis asked.
"They're still not back?" Casey asked getting worried.
"I was with the dumbos and 61 isn't back yet." Alexis said.
"Call Davis and I'll call Sylvie." Casey said.
"Tell me if you get her, I need coffee to calm me down." Alexis said.
"Same with you." Casey said.
Alexis walks into the common room.
"Mave answer please." Alexis said as she waits for him to answer.
"This is Maverick, I'm probably at work so call me back later." Maverick's voicemail said.
Alexis calls 4 more times and she gets the same thing. Casey looks at Alexis.
"I'll call Jay." Alexis said.
"I'll tell Boden." Casey said.
Alexis calls Jay.
Jay: Halstead.
Alexis: You at the district?
Jay: Yeah, doing paperwork.
Alexis: Our paramedics are missing.
Jay: What do you mean?
Alexis: They've been out for two and a half hours.
Jay: Hang up and call Med and Lakeshore. If they haven't arrived then come to the precinct.
"Case, can we take a ride to Med?" Alexis asked.
"Yeah." Casey said.
81 gets to Med.
"Hey Maggie. Has 61 dropped off a patient here?" Alexis asked with Casey next to her.
"No, why?" Maggie asked.
"Call me if you do." Alexis said.
They run out and get to Lakeshore.
"Landburg, have you seen anyone from 61 in the last two and a half hours?" Alexis asked.
"We've had a lot of patients in that time." Landburg said.
"Thunk fast and hard!" Alexis shouts.
"Alex." Casey said.
"My two best friends and his girlfriend is missing. So tell me!" Alexis shouts.
"No." Landburg said.
81 gets to the 21st precinct.
"Can you buzz me up?" Alexis asked.
"Concerning?" Trudy asked.
"Missing paramedics. Jay knows I'm coming." Alexis said.
Trudy buzzes her up and Alexis runs up the stairs.
"Lakeshore and Med said they haven't seen them." Alexis said.
"We'll find them." Jay said.
"What if it's too late?" Alexis asked.
