Chapter Twenty Seven

It's the day of the annual CFD barbeque.
"Here comes the true troublemakers." Casey said.
"Jerk." Alexis said.
"You're talking to your Captain." Casey said.
"We're off shift so technically you're not." Alexis said.
Casey gives Alexis a look.
"Don't you dare." Alexis said.
Casey begins walking towards her. 
"No." Alexis said.
Casey starts chasing Alexis. Kelly picks up Alexis and hangs her upside down.
"Kelly!" Alexis said.
Kelly laughs.
"Not this again." Alexis said. 
Kelly evily laughs.
"All of the blood is getting to my head." Alexis said.
Kelly lets her go.
"Ow." Alexis said laying on the floor.
Kelly messes up her hair and walks to the beer.
"I'm going to get you, Severide." Alexis said.
They sit at a table drinking beer.
"Can you please cover that up? No need to scare the children." Barnes said.
"What are you going to do about it? It's who I am." Alexis said.
"It's scaring the kids." Barnes said.
"How about the scared kid who got these? Did you ever think of that? My family died. I was 16 and the only person who visited me were the firefighters who saved me. SO NO I WON'T  COVER UP!" Alexis said getting upset.
"Seriously, Barnes." Kelly said.
"Step away, Severide." Barnes said.
"No, she's my family." Kelly said.
"Cover...up." Barnes said.
Kelly punches Barnes.
"I feel like I've been here enough." Alexis said.
"Alex, don't go." Kelly said.
"I'm tired. I didn't really sleep last night." Alexis lied.
Kelly hugs his best friend.
"I love you." Kelly said.
"I love you too." Alexis said.
Alexis drives around for the next few hours. She eventually goes to Will's. Will lets her in.
"What's wrong? Kelly called me a dozen times." Will asked.
Alexis starts crying.
"How about I order pizza, get beer and we can watch the game." Will said hugging Alexis.
Alexis nods as she wipes her tears.
A couple minutes the pizza comes and the game starts.
Will notices her hand and the doctor he is, he checks on her hand.
"What happened?" Will asked.
"A brick wall." Alexis said.
"How come you haven't gone to Med?" Will asked pushing on her knuckles trying to feel anything broken.
"Ow." Alexis said.
"You fractured your knuckle. Someone needs to go to Med." Will said.
Alexis groans.
"We can go quick then come back here." Will said.
They get to Med.
"I thought you were off." Maggie said.
"Someone fractured her knuckle and needs an X-ray." Will said.
Alexis looks annoyed.
"Bed 3." Maggie said.
They get the X-ray and Alexis has a boxer's fracture. Will drives them back to his apartment. They start to watch the game.
"Rest your head on my lap." Will said.
Alexis lays her head on Will's lap. Will starts to stroke Alexis's hair making her tired.
"Just go to sleep." Will said. 
"No." Alexis said tiredly.
Next thing Will notices is that Alexis fell asleep.
"You're so beautiful, Alexis Rae." Will said.
Alexis begins moving and Will puts his arm around ALexis's side so she doesn't fall off the couch.
"I got you. I'm not going anywhere." Will said.
Will smiles at the girl he's liked for sometime.
"I like you Alexis Rae." Will said.
Unaware to Will, Alexis wasn't fully asleep and heard everything.
