Chapter Nineteen

Alexis anxiously waits in the waiting room with her fellow firefighters. She begins pacing back and forth.
"Morg, calm down." Casey said.
"I can't. I lost too many important people." Alexis said.
Jack tried to stop Alexis but Alexis suddenly shoved Jack back.
"You alright?" Casey asked.
"Yeah." Jack said.
Alexis eventually calms down. She begins reading an article.
"Luke." Alexis said quietly but loud enough for people to hear.
Alexis begins to cry.
"Hey. What happened?" Casey asked trying to comfort his sister.
Alexis crying soon turns into wailing. Casey looks at her phone.
Hero firefighter, Captain Lucas Baker died by cardiac arrest after saving 13 people in a skyscraper fire.
Casey hugs her as Alexis starts shaking.
"Kelly." Was all Alexis could get out.
"Anyone you want me to call?" Casey asked as he rubs her back.
Alexis shakes her head.
"Lets sit in a chair." Casey said.
Casey helps Alexis up. Alexis drags her feet as she goes to a chair. Casey sits next to her and holds her hand.
"He'll be ok." Casey said.
Will walks into the waiting room and hugs her.
"I just read the article." Will said.
Alexis hugs Will tight.
"How is he?" Will mouths.
"Surgery." Casey mouths.
"I lost mom, James, Luke and Connor left without saying anything to me. I can't lose him. I can't." Alexis said.
"You won't. Marcel is a great surgeon. Connor doesn't deserve you." Will said.
"I don't even have clean clothes anymore." Alexis said.
"We'll get you stuff." Casey said.
They get a call and Will gets paged.
"Stay here." Kidd said.
They all run out and Will runs off.
Alexis continues to cry.
