Chapter Forty Three

They get to Maverick's room.
"Hey trouble." Alexis said.
"My hoosiers." Maverick said.
They sit on opposite sides of Maverick's beds.
"You got some nice hair." Brett said.
Maverick sticks out his tongue out at Brett. Alexis's eyes start to water.
"I'm ok." Maverick said.
The morning comes
Maverick wakes up in a cold sweat.
"Lex." Was all Maverick could get out.
Alexis wakes up. 
"Mave?" Alexis asked.
Maverick holds his chest and starts coughing.
"Hold on, I'll get a doctor." Alexis said.
Alexis walks out and sees Will.
"Damn it." Alexis said under her breath.
Alexis walks over to Will.
"I know we aren't on good terms but it's Maverick." Alexis said crying.
Will and Alexis run in his room.
"My...chest...hurts." Maverick struggles to say as he coughs hard.
"Take this." Will said as he puts an oxygen mask over Maverick's face.
Will takes his temperature at it's 104.
"I have..." Alexis starts saying.
"I got him." Will said.
"If he ends up dead, I'm coming for your job." Alexis said.
"I wouldn't do that." Will said.
Alexis walks away and calls Kelly.
Kelly: Alex.
Alexis: I'm scared, Kel.
Kelly: What's happening?
"Make a rush on this." Will said to the desk lady.
Alexis: I need Luke.
Kelly: I can try to get one of your guys over here.
Alexis: I can't lose him too.
Kelly: You won't. You're not going to lose anyone.
Suddenly, a pen goes flying out the door.
Alexis: Got to go. I love you and be safe.
Kelly: I love you too.
Alexis hangs up.
She walks back into Maverick's room.
"It hurts." Maverick cries.
"I know it does." Alexis said.
Will walks back in with a cold towel and puts it on Maverick's head.
"Acetaminophen, IV fluids, blankets and water." Will said.
Maverick tries to drink the water but ends up choking because of him coughing.
"Pneumonia. You have the symptoms and that's why I got fluids." Will said.
"Thank you." Alexis said.
"If he gets worse make them page me until I get here and there's a possibility that he could be intubated." Will said.
