Chapter Forty Seven

Alexis falls asleep leaning against Jay's leg.
"He's in room 1023." April said.
"Thank you." Jay said.
Jay picks up the sleeping firefighter and carries her to her best friend's room.
"What happened?" Kelly asked as he sees Alexis hand.
"A guy by the name of Wyatt." Jay said as he sits on the chair with sleeping Alexis.
"Kels." Alexis groggily said.
"Lex." Kelly said smiling at her.
Alexis smiles at the site of her best friend.
"Stop worrying. I'm fine." Kelly said.
"Nope." Alexis said.
"You're released. You're out of work until the stitches are removed." Will said. 
"Hate this place." Kelly said.
Jay holds the back of her pants. Will leaves.
"Off." Alexis said.
"Where are you going?" Jay asked.
"Away from you." Alexis said.
"I'm the only one with a car." Jay said.
They get to the firehouse.
"Alexis." Boden said.
"Let me guess. They suspended me." Alexis said.
Boden looks at her.
"They want a disciplinary hearing
"I should just say goodbye now." Alexis said.
"I'm sorry." Boden said.
"It's not your fault. You've been more like a father to me in the months we knew each other than the 16 years that he was. Funny thing is that my two major father figures were firefighters." Alexis said.
Boden hugs Alexis.
"You get more in trouble than your best friend." Boden said.
Alexis laughs.
"I heard that." Kelly said.
Alexis smiles as she sees who's calling her.
Jay: I want to guess. You got suspended.
Alexis: What? Never.
Jay: Which means yes. Anyway, I just wanted to tell you that you did a number on his face.
Alexis: Good. He deserved it.
Jay: You broke his eye socket, possibly blind in one eye, broke his nose, broke his jaw and knocked some teeth out.
Alexis laughs.
Jay: You shouldn't be laughing.
Jay starts to laugh.
Alexis: Says the guy who's laughing.
Jay: Well I got to go.
Alexis: Be safe and you owe me a beer.
Jay: You too and says who?
Alexis hangs up.
