Chapter Twenty One

A week passes by. Kelly went to Indiana with Alexis for Luke's funeral.
"We got a smoke eater in the house!" Cruz shouts as
Kelly and Alexis walk into the firehouse.
Kelly smiles big.
"I see that you're happy to be back." Alexis said.
"So happy." Kelly said.
They walk into the locker room to change.
"It's like Shay's back with Kelly." Cruz said.
"It really is." Capp said.
Engine 51,  Truck 81, Squad 3, Ambulance 61, Structure fire.
They get to the call and they all look shocked.
"I know this looks bad but we need to help!" Casey yelled.
Casey, Kelly, and Herrmann instruct their men.
"This is a bad one is it?" Alexis asked.
"Yeah it is. The last one I saw like this we lost one and I broke my arm." Brett said.
Alexis nervously looks at the building.
"It's going to be alright." Kaufan said.
Alexis nods.
"The annual barbeque banquet is in a few days. You should go." Brett said.
Alexis smiles.
"I will." Alexis said. 
Casey runs out coughing.
"Don't." Alexis said giving Casey water.
Alexis checks Casey's oxygen levels. 10%.
"Sit and stay." Alexis said.
Casey looks at Alexis. Alexis gives Casey a dirty look.
"I'm not losing anymore firefighters." Alexis said.
Boden steps out of his car as bystanders run out.
"Is everyone out?" Alexis asked.
"Half of Squad and 81 are still gathering the last of the people." Cruz said.
"Sit and drink." Alexis said.
"Yes, she's bossy." Casey said.
Alexis hits the back of Casey's head.
"Everyone evacuate!" Boden said over the radio.
The rest of the firefighters and some civilians run out. Kelly walks over to Alexis and hugs her.
"Now work." Kelly said.
Alexis shakes her head and begin treating everyone with Brett.
"We need 6 additional ambulances for smoke inhalation." Brett said over the radio.
They get to Med.
"You'll have a fun day with smoke inhalation." Alexis said.
"You should have a quiet day." Will said.
"I hate you." Alexis whines.
"Love you too." Will said.
Truck 81, Squad 3, Ambulance 61, Person trapped for unknown causes. 
Alexis gives Will a dirty look before running off.
They get to the call.
"Who jinxed us?" Casey asked as everyone gets out of their vehicles.
"Thank Will for that." Brett said.
"What happened here?" Casey asked.
"We got trapped suspect, Jay Halstead and Hailey Upton in the elevator." Kevin said.
"Are they hurt?" Alexis asked.
"Suspect and Jay are." Kevin said.
"Let Kelly and I go. I'm the lightest one and trained in both." Alexis said.
Kevin brings them to the closest floor.
"Careful." Kelly said.
"I will." Alexis said.
Kelly starts helping Alexis set up.
"How are you doing down there?" Alexis asked.
"We're both shot." Jay shout.
Alexis gets on the elvator.
"Go up and have them send down a kit." Alexis said to Hailey as she takes off her harness.
"Let me go first and not this snitch." Suspect, Carter Gomez said.
"I'm not letting you go with my brother up there." Alexis said as she gets the harness on Hailey.
"Send her up" Alexis said over the radio.
They send Hailey up. A few seconds pass and the harness and a kit comes down.
"Jay, you with me?" Alexis asked.
Alexis sets Carter up.
"Bring it back down fast! Make sure Brett is ready!" Alexis yelled.
Jay goes unconscious.
