Chapter Fifty

A week passes by
Alexis is laying by Jay's side not wanting to get up.
"I got work." Alexis said.
"I'm always off when you have work." Jay said.
Alexis kisses Jay.
She gets to the firehouse.
"You seem really happy." Kelly said.
Alexis smiles.
"I like it." Kelly said.
Alexis sits in the back of 61.
"Hoosier." Maverick said.
"Maverick." Alexis said.
"How is it going with the detective?" Brett asked.
Alexis smiles big.
"You love him?" Maverick asked.
"I'm scared to fall in love with him or really trust him. My two relationship fell apart." Alexis said.
"And they were not too smart doctors." Brett said.
Alexis smiles.
"I've never seen you this happy. I've seen you really angry and sad. I've seen you happy but this is 100% better than before." Maverick said.
"Never happy for long. Boyfriend left, Kelly got hurt and my father died, my sister almost died, my boyfriend cheated on me, You almost died twice, my biological father escaped, Kelly got hurt again, sadly didn't kill my biological father, learned that my father killed my brother and mom and almost killed me, I got suspended and almost fired once." Alexis said.
"Here. No sappy stories." Kelly said giving her coffee.
"My life is a sappy story." Alexis said.
Truck 81, Squad 3, Ambulace 61, car accident.
They get to the call.
They spot a squad car from the 21st district, upside down.
"Get Fisher out, I can get in." Alexis said.
They finish up the call and return to 51.
"Who are the flowers for?" Cruz asked.
Alexis finds the card.
"Miss me? -W.M." Alexis reads.
Alexis looks terrified. Kelly takes the card from her.
"I'm calling Jay." Kelly said.
"He's going to worry." Alexis said.
"For once, let us worry about you." Kelly said.
"He's going to be here two minutes after you call." Alexis said.
"He loves you and he got sirens." Kelly said.
"Let me talk with Boden first before he storms in here all worried boyfriend." Alexis said.
"Fine." Kelly said.
Alexis knocks on Boden's door.
"What did you do?" Boden asked.
"Hey." Alexis said.
Boden smiles. Alexis gives Boden the card.
"He sent me flowers." Alexis said.
Boden gets a worried look.
"Don't worry. I'm going to have a worst one." Alexis said.
"Call him." Boden said.
Alexis gets back with Squad. She suddenly sees a black SUV turning into the driveway.
Jay has a very worried look on his face.
"Why can't he just leave me alone?" Alexis asked as her face is in his chest.
"Hang out in my office. If you want I can tell everyone." Kelly said.
Alexis doesn't move.
"You have a whole firehouse and district behind you, Lex." Kelly said.
"Can you?" Alexis asked.
"Yeah." Kelly said.
"I knew they weren't from you by looking at them." Alexis said.
"Good thing we agreed on blue." Jay said.
Kelly walks into the common room and makes sure everyone is there.
"I have something to tell you guys." Kelly said.
Everyone looks at him.
"While we were at the call it seems like Lex got flowers." Kelly said.
"Why is that so bad?" Mouch asked.
"From the guy who shall not be named." Kelly said.
Maverick immediately runs out of the firehouse.
"Hey." Maverick said.
"I'm ok." Alexis said.
"Ok." Maverick said knowing that's not true.
"I want you at the district." Jay said.
"Whatever." Alexis said.
They take a small detour to Benny's cabin.
"Taking me to a cabin huh." Alexis said.
"I'm going to steal a boat then let you drown." Jay said.
"Jerk!" Alexis said as she hits his chest.
"Ok now, I'm going to be serious." Jay said.
Alexis looks at Jay.
"I know it hasn't been that long since we started dating but we both got risky jobs and I don't want to live in it without you. I love you, Alexis Rae Morgan. You saved more than once which I find sexy. What else I find sexy is the scars. It shows me that my girl doesn't give up and that she's a survivor. Anyway, I want to wake up next to you everyday. I want to protect you until the day, I die. I love you Alex. So will you make me the happiest detective ever and marry me?" Jay asked.
