Chapter Thirty Five

A few days pass and Olivia went back to Indiana.
Alexis walks into Molly's and sits in the back corner.
"Here." Kelly said giving her another cup.
"Thank you." Alexis said.
Kelly gives her a smile.
"I'm always here if you need to talk." Kelly said.
"I know." Alexis said.
"Don't get drunk." Kelly said.
Alexis sticks her tongue out at Kelly. Kelly fakes being offended. Alexis quickly gets out of Molly's and starts crying.
"Hey." Kelly said as he brings her into an embrace.
Alexis cries into his chest. Kelly stays silent and they stand out there for ten minutes.
"Why don't we go home." Kelly said.
They get home and Alexis lays on Kelly's lap.
"I don't know what I would do without you." Alexis said.
Kelly smiles.
"You remind me so much of my best friend." Kelly said.
Alexis looks at Kelly.
"You do. Leslie Shay, she was a paramedic on 61. She died during a call. You guys would've became best friends." Kelly said.
"Really?" Alexis asked.
"Yeah. A lot of your personalities are alike." Kelly said.
Alexis smiles.
They watch the Blackhawks game while drinking beer.
"Jerk." Alexis said as Kelly drank the last beer out of the six pack.
Kelly laughs and Alexis smiles.
"You know I wouldn't of made it through losing Luke without you." Alexis said.
"Yes you would. You're an amazing strong human." Kelly said.
"Human?" Alexis asked.
"Yes human." Kelly said.
Alexis shakes her head.
Shift starts the next day
"I hate 72 hour shifts." Alexis said.
"Inventory time." Brett said.
"No." Alexis said.
"It's your favorite." Brett said.
Alexis scoffs. Brett smiles.
"So how are you and Matt?" Alexis asked.
Brett smiles. They start doing Inventory.
"How are you and Will?" Brett asked.
Alexis shrugs her shoulders.
"I've only really seen him when we get to Med for two minutes." Alexis said.
"It sucks that you guys are working a lot." Brett said.
"Yeah, it does." Alexis said.
