This couldn't be happening. No way, in any world was this ever going to be possible. My best friends was gone. I went to his funeral and tossed a rose into his grave. I even kissed his casket goodbye. This just wasn't happening. Someone got the last name wrong. Owen was a very common name.

I flung off the blanket and ran to the door, but Clara blocked me. I looked at Clara confused trying to push her aside and pry open the door. Anything to get to Owen.

"He lost his memories. He only knows his name. He won't know you." Clara warned me.

"I just have to see him." I opened my door.

Nurse Maggie was walking down the hall with a guy.

"Nurse Maggie?" I called.

Her and the boy turned. It was Owen, and my heart caught. I thought I saw a flash of hope in Owen's eyes, but then it was gone as quickly as it came. Anything is possible. I guess.

"Charlie!" Maggie waved. "Come over here."

I slowly walked over, leaving Ryder and Clara by my door. Ayelie's door cracked open and she peaked out an eye.

"This is Owen."

"I know." I said.

"Wait you know him?" Maggie asked.

"Yes." I nodded. "I remember him."

"You remeber me!" He grabbed my arms. "Do you?"

"Owen." Maggie touched his arm and he let me go.

"How?" Owen asked.

"You're supposed to be dead."

"Charlie!" Maggie said.

"Let her talk." Owen crossed his arms, and nodded.

"I'm Charlie Easton. We grew up together. Your older sister killed herself and then seven months later, your Mom called my Mom saying you had killed yourself. I went to your funeral, Owen."

"But I'm alive."

"I know." I brushed my cheek with the back of my hand, and then smiled. "It's really good to see you. Even if you don't remember me."

"I'm sorry." He pulled me into a hug. "Maybe I'll remember you soon, " He pulled back. "You seem like a really good friend."

"I'll be here for anything you need." I nodded.

"We need to get going Owen." Maggie touched his shoulder.

Owen dropped his hands from my arms.

"See you around charlie." Owen said.

I watched him walk down the hall and then turned around. Ayelie was all the way out of her room now, leaning against the wall.

"So that's the Mysterious best friend." She said.

"That's him." I nodded, walking to my room. "I'll see you guys later. I need to sleep."

They all hugged me and then I went into my room. I opened the top drawer to my dresser and pulled out a black rag. I shut the drawer and grabbed my shoe. I got the blade from under the padding, put the shoe back and then plopped on my bed. I set the rag on my leg, lifted up my sleeve, and touched the cold blade to my skin. I took in a breath and then pressed down. After four cuts I grabbed the rag and pressed it to my arm.

I stopped the bleeding, and then went to the first aid box on the wall. I patched up my arm, and then crawled into bed. This wasn't real. I'd wake up and Owen would be gone. Or at the very least he would remember me. It was Owen! My best friend, the one person I could always turn to. No matter what the problem was he would help me with it. It was Owen...
