"What time is it?"

"What time is it?" I groggily asked I rolled onto my back to face whoever had their hand shaking me by the shoulder.

"Uh~ let's see. It's about 4 in the morning and you're about to be late for inspections." Came Ash's voice.

Shoot.

I only had less than three hours of sleep, but I jumped outta bed quicker than should've been possible and found myself dressed up, down and out of the room before the section commander could check our ranks.
All in about two and a half minutes.

Huh. New record.

"What changed your mind, sleepy head?" Gemma teased and Melanie held back a smile.

Somethings just wouldn't change.

The rest of them were trying to hold back laughs as the entire dorm line came to attention. Commander Scray had started his checks on presentation not too far from me and her friends. I saw some boys in our ranks as well, so that definitely meant that some things had obviously changed while I was away.

"Haircut... Haircut... Just go bald..."

That was Commander Scray addressing both girls and boys alike, especially those who couldn't keep their hair tamed.

At least I know where my friends got their new looks.

When he was satisfied with the hair recommendations he'd given, he pulled out a panel and started assigning posts. And took a really long time, but the ones I could recall were...

"Eric, Avis, Laura, Colin, Mia, report to  commander of the north east flank. Josh, Nina, Duke, Sue, report to South West. Katy, Gemma, Ash, Melanie, report to the east. And Shikarukia..."

Why am I the last one?

It was a wonder that no one here shared any names, but mine was unique, so unique that whoever mistook me for someone else would need serious help.

"Shikarukia, report to Central command for evaluation."

For what now?

All eyes on me.

Oh dear.

I definitely thought something like this would happen, but not like this.

Commander Scray didn't seem to notice, or care, and he left us to find our own posts. I whipped out my panel for directions, only to find a notification from the one and only possible annoyance in my current life.

Won't be able to meet any time soon. Stay low and keep exploring.

Cameron

So helpful!

I wasn't in a good mood and made my way for my post the only way I could, by heading dead center. Arriving there in my bad mood made me bump into someone. Someone tall.

"Sorry about that—" I started but cut myself short when I really saw them. He was roughly the same height as Cameron and had similar blue eyes. His hair was dark, but not as dark as Cameron's, and his smile was unusually cocky.

"Everything all right?" They asked, the voice far from anything similar to Cameron's. It was slightly husky and deeper.

"Uhm... Excuse me." I said as I made my way around them, resisting the urge to clamp my neck that was now irritating me to no end.
