~Third person~
The outlands were considered a doomed hotspot, and for good reason. It was an abandoned megacity where only the nastiest of the nasties and deadliest of dead were found, they made tanks and raptors look like preschool.
Gigantic buildings towered above desolate city streets and blocked out the sun, which was well high in the sky by now. But it made no difference to the dark shadows and the restless doomed scurrying within them.
And that was a problem for Shika, as she was always a split second away from being spotted. A split second being barely enough time when her threats were raptors, doomed that spotted and pursued immediately.
As per her “Captain” Cameron's advice, her best option was to wait out on the roofs, hidden from anyone's site, especially roofclingers. But just getting to the top of the smallest building was difficult thanks to the witches inhabiting almost all the ground floors she ventured.
For those ones, her biggest problem was to be as silent as a grave. Her com had been making so much static, and ridiculously loud too, that she had convinced herself it was enough to wake a whole block of doomed. As much as it would've been nice for her com to come back online, she had to be wary of unwanted parties jacking her frequency.
In this case, that would be Hector.
She should've seen it coming, but the thought alone still didn't prepare her for Hector's physical shifting. All in all, he would've been a decent looking guy, attractive even, midnight blue hair, strong face and build. But she was completely thrown off when she nearly missed a searing heat intimidation by looking into his inferno red eyes.
What she'd give to see the twin eyes she shared with her brother, or even a certain lightning pair. She was actually beginning to miss those eyes.
All set aside, the odds were really stacked against her.
She was currently hanging from her tanto off the outside of the second floor of a four storey building. Trying her best to avoid the windows of her building as well as praying to remain unseen from any other rooftops, she waited for the squad of tanks to pass on by below her. She would've stayed there, but her arms were tiring and the soft, hypnotic crying of the witch inside the building were enough motivation to keep her going.
Focusing hard, she let the lightning flow through her body to her blade, until a long steady line of sparks detached blade from handle and lowered her gently to the battered streets beneath her. Her feet softly hugged the ground beneath her, and for a second she felt safe and relieved.
A blood churning growl caused her to perk up and jump backwards into the building, flicking her blade up to the roof above her, grappling away just as a different figure took her place. She took a quick glance at the God placed steel bars around her and noticed a hole in the roof. She looked down and saw it was a raptor that took her previous spot. She shut her eyes tight and held her breath.
All it had to do was look up...
"Platinum!"
The raptor turned it's head to the exit and ran out as quick as it came. Shika was thankful she could relax a bit, but almost bit her tongue when she remembered that it ran because of Hector. It ran away because of Hector. And he was coming her way.
"Platy?! Come out to play! Promise I won't bite that hard..."
She bit her lower lip and willed herself from think rationally. Judging by the sound, he wasn't that close, but he was closing in fast.
Thirty seconds max.
If she went through the nearby hole, she wouldn't know what awaited her on the other side. But she decided to take a gamble and act on the logic that the building would be cleared out due to his presence.
