The outlands.

Colin and Addie were trailing it and told us where it was going. The behemoth was heading straight for the outlands and it made absolutely no sense.

"Cameron?" I asked over the com, "If this thing looks for doomed like either 236 or large numbers of people, then why would it be on its way to the outlands?"

"The thing was made by Hector. Your guess is as good as mine."

"Shoot guys we lost it!" Colin yelled.

"How do you lose something that big?" We asked at the same time as we neared their bikes ahead of us.

"It just disappeared okay?!" Addie's terrified voice yelled back.

I came up on her left side with Cameron on my right and Colin on her right.

"Just calm down." Cameron spoke blankly, "The last thing we need is to alert any of it's friends were ripe for the picking."

"This thing is headed to the outlands, so why not just leave it there?" Colin slowed his bike to stay close to us.

"Because that thing will keep moving until we're wiped out. Which means all remaining sixty seven Wall towns, cities and megacities alike."

As Cameron was talking, I felt a chill run down my spine. I was expecting it, seeing as the ghastly buildings of the outlands were in sight, but it still felt highly uncomfortable. The upcoming dunes seemed to be shifting slightly, which only meant one thing.

"Cameron..." He looked at me and  nodded. We slowly started to change direction slightly, but that's when things went wrong.

There was an eruption of sand behind us, and I heard the hoarse screech of  a raptor before a dozen more popped up ahead. Addie and Colin had their guns at ready and I drew my tanto to slice through, when another, larger eruption happened directly behind me.

"Behemoth!"

The force rattled my bike and I was about to regain balance, when I crashed straight into two raptors.

"Shika!"

I was flung off together with the raptors and landed in the surprisingly not so soft sand. I sprung up on all fours, trying to regain my bearings, when a large area around us darkened. I looked up just in time to spot and dodge a gigantic hand plus avoid getting squashed.

The raptors, not so lucky.

Another rumble and a second shadow appeared, but before I could register it, I was hoisted by the waist and thrown onto the back of a bike.

"You alright lieutenant?"

"Colin?"

Huh. Who'd have thought?

"That thing is mighty huge."

"Where are Cam 'n' Addie?"

"We're alright Shika." I turned my head to look past the doomed to see two bikes on the other side. The distance between us was huge. The behemoth just got larger.

"Once we arrive in the city, we gonna ditch the bikes, go on foot. Meet up on a roof somewhere." Cameron said.

Why ditch the bikes? Did you rig them again...?

"No, I did not Shika." I heard him answer as if he heard me. I could also hear the smug smirk in his voice, and I felt myself smile.

We signaled an okay with our hands before splitting off. I could hear the behemoth behind us, but it didn't sound like it had changed direction. Thanks to it though, there were only two or three raptors left.
