~Shika~
"Jokul, why didn't you come back?"
I was sure.
This time I was positively sure.
I had a brother before the orphanage who was three years older and had sandy hair with silver blue eyes.
We were leaving Norrham to start afresh, running from some unknown danger. But something had happened. Someone had happened, and I never saw my family again.
But now I was sure.
This time I was definitely sure.
"Jokul, why didn't you—"
The rest of my sentence got muffled out, seeing as my mouth was blocked by something. My hands were more or less pinned to my sides as something wrapped around me. I honestly don't appreciate being cut mid-sentence, but this was an exception I was willing milk for all it's worth.
Jokul, was hugging. Me.
"I'm sorry."
It wasn't much, but he was also hugging me, and that counted as something.
I had waited for so long that I started to forget that I had a life before the orphanage, before Mother Rachel. But now I was here in my brother's arms, quite awkwardly albeit, but feeling safe nonetheless—
HOLD IT!
Did Jokul just... sniffle?
"Shika I'm so sorry. I did come back, but they told me you were all dead. You, mum and dad. I didn't want to believe it so I joined the organisation to make looking for you easier. But at some point... I lost hope honestly... I gave up. That's why I had a hard time believing who you were when you came to the fort... I'm really sorry..."
There was another sniffle when he paused and I realized it was coming from me. Jokul had changed, this was the most I'd heard him say ever since I joined the lieutenants. It was a bit shocking... Okay, that's an understatement.
"Y-You know you're hugging me... Right?" I asked, voice all small and timid and full of snot. The Jokul I knew now didn't look to be the hugging kind.
But he just laughed. Not chuckled. He actually laughed, and it sounded amazing too.
"I know that, because I finally know who you are."
"And that would be...?"
"You're Shikarukia Harusa," he looked down at me and smiled gently, "And you're my little sister."
I didn't know I could smile so wide in this magical moment.
A moment that was too short for my liking.
"Fiiinnaally!"
Jokul and I both tensed up the second Trent burst through the room.
"The show was getting a little daunting and I was honestly beginning to think you'd never work things out!"
Wait, Trent knew all this time?
"Alright," Jokul growled with a grin on his face and me still in his arms, "I'm giving you three seconds to run before I break you again Hatter..."
Trent visibly paled and was about to give some smart retort when Linda walked in behind him and bonked his head.
"No one needs to hear you dig yourself a deeper hole." She said while Trent comically rubbed a bump forming on his head.
