“I hear the whisper underneath your breath
I hear you whisper you have nothing left.”

My breath caught and my chest tightened as Shika fell together with the building. Addie was behind me, taking out doomed getting too close, but there were new, morphed typed that I'd never seen and they were making things more difficult. Apart from taking out the cursed behemoth, making sure Shika was okay was my top priority.
The coms would be useless with all the dust and metal down there, so it meant descending the building.
"Where were you?" I turned my head to see Addie yelling at Colin, who had just arrived.
"I came looking for you guys– Ow!"
"North idiot, we said north!" Addie was hitting his head with the butt of her gun, "Either your excuse is a lie or you just have a really bad sense of direction!"
Seeing her scared and angry at the same time was... Funny. Especially when she was swatting Colin in the head. But we had bigger problems.
While they bickered, I threw my axe in a curve, making a wall of blue flames between us and the doomed. They stopped arguing long enough for me to grab my axe and them by the collars, and drag them down below the roof. Afterwards, I pinned Colin against a wall.
"You better have a good excuse why you weren't with Shika." I growled.
"I took point, like she told me to, and bumped into–"
"Me."
We turned our heads to see Trent by a broken window, silver gun held lazily in his hand.
"What are your doing here?" I asked.
"The behemoth is dying," he shrugged and faced the outside of the building, training his gun on a target, "I thought we'd speed things up."
I shot a glare at Colin before walking to Trent's side. He had his gun trained on the behemoth's spiked back and fired. The shot ripped up a lot more flesh than it should've been able to, but what really caught my attention was the dark tendrils that seemed to lash out from the new wound before retreating back inside.
My eyes widened.
"Was that...?"
"Turns out it didn't die in the fort like we thought it would. Latched on to the behemoth in a desperate attempt to survive, but now both are dying." Trent stated with a wicked grin.
"So how do you suppose we take it out?" Came Addie's timid voice.
Trent scoffed, "That thing's body is hard and somewhat scaly, but it's neck is a weak point, a direct access to that other thing. We take it out and they both kick the bucket, go the way of the dinosaurs."
A screech came from above and below us. Two witches; two hordes. The two scouts trained their guns at both stairways, ready for anything to walk through, which meant me and Trent had to the rest.
Trent held out a half open bag that had throwing knives and other assorted blades. I cocked a brow.
"C'mon Cheshire, save the hatchet for the grand finale."
I sighed, put away my axe and grabbed the bag. Trent pulled out another gun from his side and trained both barrels at the behemoth's neck while I raised a blade.
