~Shika~

"I hope you don't knock us out again, hehe..."

That was one of the caretakers trying to make a joke as they pushed my wheelchair out of the room. I had decided not to comment in fear of making their joke come true.

I had to keep it together, just a little longer...

We were passing by an open courtyard. There was grass all round and trees on the side acting like a boundary. Looking up I could see a bright light coming from the ceiling, I couldn't tell if it was artificial or not.

"Shika! Over here!"

I turned my head to see Linda coming down the hallway. She was dressed in grey sweats and a black vest. Her cropped black hair looked messy, like she stuck her head in a cyclone or something.
When she reached me, she cocked her head and frowned.

"Why are you in a wheelchair?"

"Your friends insisted it."

I didn't mean to sound so ticked about it, but it just came out that way. I could feel the handles behind me vibrate.

Geez, I didn't mean to scare them either.

Linda grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the chair, "I'll take it from here."

I have never seen those caretakers leave as fast as they just did. Whenever I saw them moving around, they were normally walking slowly or at a steady pace.

Well, maybe except the ones from yesterday...

I gave Linda a glance and she smiled.

"They've got bad history with Titans, after hearing you were one, I guess they couldn't help but be a little edgy around you."

"Right..." Another thing gone wrong because of this titan nonsense.

All things set aside, Linda led back to the courtyard where two people were waiting for us, Jokul and Trent. Both wore combat pants and black tees, which only led me into thinking one thing:

The training was going to hurt.

As usual, Trent was having a one-sided argument with Jokul who was effortlessly ignoring him. The moment he spotted me, Jokul's lips slightly perked up at the corners causing Trent to shut up and face our direction.

"Finally, some fun!" Trent huffed out and I visibly shrunk at the thought.

"Don't worry, we'll go easy on you." Linda said while patting my back, "Well, at least I know I will."

She pulled me a bit further from the guys and stood facing me with some distance between us. She stuck up a finger, as if beginning a list.

"Let's school you on abilities. First things first, anyone ranked from Spartans upwards is guaranteed to have an ability based of an element factor, no matter how minor.

The elements are usually based off the environment. So in our case, where rain and water is quite scarce, the remainders would be fire, wind and lightning yes?"

"What about earth?" I asked her and she shook her head.

"Earth is too, for lack of a better term, 'solid' to be imbued into anyone. Otherwise, each of us lieutenants have abilities based of the three previously mentioned. Mine based off fire like Jadis, Trent off wind, and Jokul off lightning. The commanders are something else, theirs are based off fire yes, but their flames are blue, which is quite rare."
