14: license

Shawn's POV
It's July 4th. I woke up and walked to Cherry's trailer. Today is her 16th birthday, and I was driving her dads truck to take her to get her license. I remember her saying she was really excited to get it. I had already gotten mine last month. I knocked on her door and her dad answered. "Hey Shawn, Cherry's still sleeping, wanna help me make breakfast for her?" Her dad asked. "Sure, what are we making?" I was actually kinda excited. "Hash Browns, breakfast sausage, bacon, eggs, English muffins. All her favorite breakfast foods, besides fried backstrap" he chuckled. "Sweet, what do you want me to do?" I asked. "Do you think you could start by telling me what y'all are doin today while setting the table?" He suggested. "Yes sir, well, Cherry said we could take your truck, and I'd drive her to get her license, and then we would meet up with Cory and Topanga for a bit, then we would come back here, cause-" I paused and looked to make sure she wasn't up. "We are throwing her a surprise party, but you already knew that sir." I said and smiled. "No I didn't! When was this decided?" He looked surprised. "Seriously Cory?! He was supposed to tell you two weeks ago!" I was now aggravated. "Well shoot, where is this party?" He asked. "Well when I take her back here, it was so she could get ready, you would already be at the Matthews, and I would bring her and we would all surprise her." I explained. "Who's all gonna be there?" He asked. "You, me, my dad, Cory, his parents, Topanga, her parents, Mr Feeny, and Cory's siblings, my half-brother. And of course, the birthday girl, there is also a surprise guest coming." I smiled. "Great, what time do I gotta be there?" He said. "Around 5 ish, I would assume Cherry would want you to cook?" I asked. "She would." He responded. "Great, 5 o'clock will be perfect." I said.

Cherry's POV
IM 16 TODAY!!! I got up and got dressed because Shawn would be here soon. (Outfit in media above + pink bandana). When I entered the hallway, I heard two voices, SHAWN! I went in the and jumped on his back. I covered his eyes with my hands "guess who!" I said and my dad laughed. "Ummmm Birthday Girl?" He said. "Bingo! And for your reward, you get a kiss on the cheek!" I said and kissed his cheek. I hopped off his back and went to hug my dad. "Hey daddy!" I said and hugged him. He leaned his head down and I kissed his forehead. "Happy birthday punkin'!" He said. I sat between him and Shawn at the table and he handed me a plate. "Aww you guys made me breakfast?" I gushed. "Yes we did." My dad said. "Happy birthday Cherry." Shawn said and hugged me. We ate and my dad told Shawn embarrassing stories of me when I was a little kid. "Ok, here's a good one, it was Cherry's first day of second grade, and she was dancing around with her best friend Melissa on the playground. Then her mom started dancing with her, and it was just the sweetest, purest thing.." he started talking about mom, he started to sniffle. "Daddy, it's ok." My voice cracked a bit. "It is, now let me finish the story. I joined in, and so did Melissa's parents. It was probably the best first day of school ever." My dad finished the story. Me and Shawn were laughing. "Ok daddy, Shawn's gonna take me to get my license. Love you, see you later." I said and kissed his cheek. "Thanks for having me for breakfast, sir." Shawn said. "Of course Shawn, now y'all get out of here." He shooed us out.
