76: little brother

*LONG CHAPTER but you gon wanna read it*
Cherry's POV
It was my first Christmas without my dad. Me and the gang were hanging out, when Mrs Matthews came in. "Um, Cherry?" She said, her voice wavering. "Mrs Matthews? Is everything okay?" I asked. "You have a couple of visitors." She said and opened the door to the kitchen. A little boy with brown almond shaped eyes came running through the door and hugged my legs. "Um, hi?" I said, not really knowing what to do. "Are you my sissy?" The little boy asked. "I told you she was." An all too familiar voice said from the door.

Shawn's POV
"Mom?" Cherry said. "MOM?!" The rest of us said simultaneously. "Hey Cherry baby." Her mom I guess walked over to her. She hugged her and Cherry just stood there awkwardly. "C'mere baby boy." She said and held the little boy. I stood up and stood behind Cherry, my hands on her shoulders. "Mom, what are you doing here. How do you know I live here? What is going on?" Cherry asked frantically. "My baby girl, I am only here to visit, this is your baby brother Xander." She smiled. Cherry stumbled back.

Cherry's POV
"Little brother?" I whispered. "Yep, I found out I was pregnant with him not long after-" "you left me and dad?" I interrupted her. "Yes." She said looking at Xander. "What are you doing here?" Shawn asked. "Aww, are you the boyfriend? And you two the best friends?" She asked, sort of mockingly. "Yes mom, they are. Now answer his question, what are you doing here?" I asked. "Well, I thought it was time I see how you are doing. And that you met your little brother." She smiled innocently. "Uh huh." I said, not believing her. "Where's your father?" She asked. I rolled my eyes. "Hey Xander, wanna come meet my boyfriend?" I said and gestured for him to come see me.

Shawn's POV
Her little brother walked over, and I gotta say, he was adorable. "Hi, I'm your big sister Cherry, this is my boyfriend Shawn." Cherry smiled. "Hey little buddy." I said. He laughed at me and tried to grab me. "He likes you, why don't you take him, while my mom and I talk." Cherry said. "Okay, he's so adorable." I said. "Mom, dad passed a week after my birthday." We all got silent, even Xander. "He what?" She asked, looking distraught. "Yeah." Cherry said. "Oh well, that certainly does change things." She looked at the floor.

Cherry's POV
"What things?" I asked. "Well, I was hoping that your father could meet his son, and that maybe, I could take you this Christmas, try to make up for the years I've been gone." She said. "Make up for the years you've been gone? Okay, I'm gonna be calm about this." I said, but I was obviously mad. "Cherry-" She started. "No mom, I get to talk right now." I interrupted, she was taken aback. "Do you know how long, I tried to figure out what I did wrong? Do you know, how long it took dad and I to even try to get over the fact that you just up and left? Now you show up, on Christmas, with my little brother, who I've never heard about. You never even thought to call and tell me? You never even thought to call me and ask me how I was." I said, holding back tears.

Shawn's POV
"I'm so sorry Cherry." Her mom said. "Sorry? Sorry isn't good enough! You know when, something happens in their lives, they get to tell their moms." I pointed to Cory and Topanga. "When Shawn asked me out, the first thing I wanted was to have a mother to tell. But i didn't. Thank GOD daddy was there. But, then he passed away, I needed a mothers love to help me get through it. But you weren't there. Mrs Matthews has been more of a mother to me in the past few months, than you ever were. Why did I have to be your trailer trash daughter? Why'd I have to be the one that ALWAYS thought they did something wrong? Every single time you and dad fought? All I wanted was my mom, but I didn't have one." She was full on crying. "You know Ms Li, I don't have a mother or a father either. I have Cherry. Cherry has me, we have each other. But to be honest, that's not enough for either of us. We need parents, we need a mother and father to go home too. I want you right now, to tell all of us why you left." I said and Cherry just came to my side and leaned on me.

Cherry's POV
"You know you're still holding my brother?" I whispered in his ear. "Yeah well, he likes me, as he's adorable, so." He whispered back. My mom stayed silent. "I left because, I never felt like you and daddy let me in. You two had this incredible relationship that I longed for with you. From the very beginning. You know, when your daddy was coming home from work, always right on time, right before he opened the door, you kicked inside my stomach, cause you knew he was home. I just wanted that, and I never got it. So I left, and when I found out I was pregnant with your fathers baby, I almost went back home. I stood outside the trailer door, but then I decided, I had my chance, a relationship with my new kid." She said. "You don't think you having my little sibling would have brought us closer? ALL I EVER ASKED YOU AND DADDY FOR WAS A BROTHER OR SISTER! But, you probably don't remember that, cause you were too busy telling me I was trash." I shrugged.

Shawn's POV
I had one arm around Cherry and I was holding her little brother. "I am so sorry, I was trash, I should have knocked on that trailer door." Her mom said sighing. "I'm glad, and not glad you didn't." Cherry said. "If you did, I probably never would have met Shawn, or Cory, or Topanga. But, I haven't met my brother till now." Cherry said tickling Xander. "You two are really good with him." Her mom said. "The way I know you live here, is cause, I moved to Pittsburgh, word gets around I guess. Maybe you two would wanna babysit him sometime?" Her mom suggested. "I would like that. As long as we're just babysitting him and not you." I said. "What have you told him Cherry?" Her mom asked. "Yeah, this little baby is the best." Cherry said. "Mom, how about you go explore Pennsylvania. Shawn and I will babysit tonight." Cherry said pushing her mom out of the door basically. "Oh okay. Sure. You can handle him?" She said. "Yes." Cherry said ushering her closer to the door. She was outside when Cherry was about to close the door.

Cherry's POV
"I love you." My moms said. The door was almost closed and I opened it more. "Me or the baby?" I asked. "Both." She smiled. "I don't know what I feel for you right now mom." I said. "I understand completely." She said and waved at Xander. "Mommy, am I staying with sissy and my new fwiend?" My brother stood in front of my mom. Shawn and I laughed. "Yeah, mommy will see you later okay? Be good for sissy. Mommy loves you." She said and hugged him. "I luh you too." He said and they hugged. I shut the door and sighed, a tear falling down my cheek.
